#39Yeah, curious what Dwight S. thinks.
I'm a homer obviously, but I really believe that with the way the Canucks have been physically beat up for six games, and with Thomas of course in a pretty sick zone, my B's may well take this. So tough to call though.
Unfortunately for my nerves, I think it's going to OT.Comment -

#40It is tough to call. It's really a shame that Vancouver has to resort to childish antics like diving and whining. Luongo running his mouth was just plain dumb.Comment -

#41I believe there's a strategy here. The Bruins are 6-0 ATS in this whole series. They may not have beaten the Canucks on the road yet, but they covered the +1.5 puck line in games 1, 2, & 5 on the road against the Canucks. The Canucks never covered the +1.5 puck line in games 3, 4, & 6 on the road against the Bruins. This tells you that you should bet on the Bruins to win in game 7. There's no way that the Canucks will win by exactly one point here again like in their previous 3 home games against the Bruins. Also, there's no reason why not to bet on the money line on the Bruins since they covered the +1.5 puck line against the Canucks on the road in this whole series. That pretty much means they'll win in game 7. Anyone who bets on the money line on the Canucks either has no strategy and/or is just speculating. The Bruins have better juice here as an underdog. Championship teams cover point spreads (or puck lines) while teams that can't cover point spreads (or puck lines) don't win championships.
Just like in the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals, the home favorites (Red Wings and Penguins) covered the -1.5 puck line in games 1 through 5. Even though the Red Wings couldn't beat the Penguins on the road, they were able to cover the +1.5 puck line in game 6. Since the Penguins couldn't cover the +1.5 puck line in games 1, 2, & 5 on the road against the Red Wings on the road, they were able to do it in game 7 by beating them outright.Comment -

#42Boston has not been able to close teams out on the road (except for Philly) in these playoffs and I don't see that changing in game 7. Vancouver was by far the best team in hockey all year and they did "slay the dragon" when they beat Chicago in game 7 at home which shows they have the ability to win a huge game at home.
I think if you look at this team as the better team all year, home ice and last change advantage, and Boston's incapability to close out both Tampa Bay and Montreal on the road, the play is Vancouver.
Thomas is a huge factor and it is really hard to bet against him, but you gotta remember Luongo has huge game experience with team Canada.Comment -

#43Yes and remember the soft goals he let in against the U.S in last year's gold medal game in the Olympics and also the goal he let in years ago to lose the gold on us in the World Jr's.
I lost a lot of respect for Lu Lu Lemon in this year playoffs. Guy is emotionally fragile during big games.Comment -

#49Luongo said that because of Timmy's aggressive style of play, he would make saves that Thomas wouldn't and Thomas would make saves that he wouldn't. However the second half of that statement conveniently got left out when it was repeated over and over. Hardly running his mouth...Comment -

#56how sure is everyone that luongo will even goal tend? I dont think he will. i think he is to much of a risk to play. If this game was in boston, i would have no doubt bruins would take it. But being that it is in Vancouver it will be much closer. Boston and under is my playComment -

#59I agree with statement. No one on the two teams has been as consistent throughout the playoffs as Thomas was. As for the game goes i got to give it to the team with the home ice advantage. Canucks will have the 6th player behind them and last call on line changes. Hope this game goes into OT.Comment -

#63gotta go with the under. boston is no where near as physical or dominant on the road so they won't control the puck, but thomas will be thomas. and vancouver plays much better d at home helping luongo much more. boston will try hard to make it a physical game to emulate how they have played at home. defenses will rule and goaltending will be awesome as the game stays under.Comment -

Hope the Bruins win...but really hope the under cashes!
