if it a big epidemic there should be some sort of regulations set to ensure wrestler's health.

Shame they abuse their body for such little profit, for every Rock or Hogan there is what 250 wrestlers that don't have a pot to piss in.

I guess the movie "The Wrestler" does justice in being an accurate portrayal. Great movie BTW.

sad lose, this guy gave me many quality hours of entertainment as a kid. He's also one of the few people who exited wrestling gracefully unlike the Hogans/Flairs/ Shawn Micheals of the world.

You are correct. There should be. I met Chris Benoit back in Detroit just 2 days before Wrestlemania. The guy was a "wrestling genius" and he spoke to me as normal as anyone else. He was laughing... wonderful personality. Months later... all the murders at his residence? His entire family? And himself? I still don't want to say he did it. I still don't believe he did it. Apparently evidence is evidence? Then the reports came out... it was the Steroids? ROID RAGE. Nobody will ever know the truth. The government pressured WWE a tad in roid testing. But everyone is on ROIDS in the WWE. You can't get that kind of size, mass, or gain without being on steroids or HGH. How did the WWE get away with it?? Money.

Out of 10,000 students who enroll in wrestling school USA wide... maybe 200 will get lucky enough to have a WWE tryout one day. And even when you sign a contract with WWE... you may never show your face on the networks. There are about 10-20 wrestlers who actually are under contract with the WWE but still have never showed there face on the networks. They are for back-ups, story plot changes, etc.

I actually watched it this year for the first time. I enjoyed watching it.

My friend who started wrestling back when he was 20 years old... he refuses to use steroids... and he's about 180 lbs cut... very talented... now he'll be turning 26 years old this year... He wrestles out of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and even Northern Kentucky... all the gym shows. He loves it! He doesn't even get back what he puts into it. Some people just want to live the dream... and some people just never give up on that dream. If you don't get signed with the WWE by the age of 24... your Pro Career is over.

                                                  Story By: Marc Middleton
                                                  - From TMZ.com:

Macho Man Randy Savage -- one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time -- died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ spoke with Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle.

Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn.

                                                  Savage was 58.

Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase "Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh." Savage was so popular, he became the spokesperson for Slim Jim in the mid '90s ... and became virtually synonymous with the brand.

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ ... Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree."

Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries.

Savage's wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision -- but survived with "minor injuries." She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated.

According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

Never was a fan of wrestling, but the abuse these guys lived with and their lives always (seemingly) being cut short is sad.
