Thoughts on TB being such a big fav over the Angels?
you can find the angels over +150 which shows how much things have changed over the last year or 2.

Garland has a winning record with a poor ERA, but the TB roster is only batting 226 off him overall. Pena and crawford have had very little success off John and the rest of the team hasn't done a whole lot. Upton has done decently but only has 3 Abs, while Hinske is the only guy whos really proven himself in 10+ at bats.

Shields has almost no experience vs. the ana roster, but vlad has hammered him in his 12 abs against him.

Shields is only giving up 15.2% LDs while Garland is up at 20%, but the angels have won 4 in a row in this series and still have the more talented team despite the great start TB has gotten off to. The angels are the 2nd highest scoring tema in the league while the Rays lead the AL in Ks per game.

I don't think the value is with the rays in this one really.

I would agree with what you say here. I took them in the underdog today. This line just doesn't add up for me.

I like the Angles but right now that probably bodes well for a Rays bettor.

seems like too lofty a line on a team as sound as the angels. tb is young and a bit more of a wild card at this point.

Seems like the sharps are on the rays, the line spiked for the rays this morning even though most of the action is on the Angels.

baseball is not as easy to read, based purely on line movement, as most games.

Yeah it's an interesting game and set of lines, my first thoughts have been there's probably value here somewhere, but not sure where.

I feel very iffy about LA though, I doubt I'll wind up betting the Angels. I'll post whatever I do wind up betting.

That's not true, he just has high volatility, but when he's on he has good starts.

Well this is an interesting game, will be interesting to see how it turns out. Shields is likely to have a good game, but if that means 8 ip 1 er or 6 ip 3 er is not clear, and the Angels may crush someone from the TB pen if they get 3 innings at it.

Garland made a change to his mechanics that worked well last time out and that may carry over here, he was great last start.

No bet for me on this one, and I usually have some kind of bet in some way on most MLB games. But this one, way too many conflicting factors in all directions.

I have the Angels in the dog pool but didn't bet them. However, I really think there is value here if you can get them at +150 or higher. The Angels shouldn't be any worse than +125 dogs in my estimation...

How did the lines makers know that the Angels would lay their bats down tonight? This is the one line tonight where i thought they were begging everyone to take Tampa. I even wrote a post about it at another site. How are these lines makers so good when i have the same info that they have? I think i know but guys get mad when i say it. This was one of the worst lines i have seen in six months but somehow the books won.

I disagree, I think it was one of the best lines even just on today's card. I thought the line was right on. Shields was in a position to throw a good game.

like "purecarnage" says ........... theres no value in a loss ............ you gotta pick your spots better and in this one TB was the play to lay alittle wood ........ they also got lucky on the runline ..............

tb scored 0 through 8 innings. someone on ana hits a solo shot at any point in the game and its likely a 1-0 ana final. things happen, i would take ana again in 5 days with this same matchup at this same price.

Please are u kidding me. When i looked at the card tonight this game jumped at me and grabbed my throat. I come in here and i see Mo basically saying the same thing. Shields was in position to throw a good game He got drilled last time out but you know when he is ready to throw a bunch of zero's. Something was fishy about this game and i have been known to take the most balsy of picks in the country and i still didn't have the balls to take Tampa with that high juice. I can get nine guys to play Tampa and it would be even money. Angels laid down like they were told to and that is why guys are so barrelled in all over the country. They aint bad cappers its just something smells rotten in denmark.

strickly based on how hard he was hit in each game, his last time out against the sox would rank as his worst outing of the year giving up 3 LDs in 3.2 innings. the 3 walks obviously didn't help. that was his worst game as far as ld/ip ratio; his 2nd worst being his game against the twins on 4/16.
