Pete - someone said almost exactly what you just said to me earlier today. Australia isn't as much of a gun society as the US but it is turning into a knife one rapidly. This kid could've done much worse than what happened today when he finally lost it. Yeah the end result still isn't pleasant but at least there aren't a bunch of kids/teachers lying dead with bullet holes through their chests or stabbed to death.

This stuff is happening all the time now and the evolution of social networking is only making it worse. I'm honestly scared for when my son goes to school.

I don't understand the "excessive force" folks.

The Chubby kid was being picked on, humiliated----and ridiculed. He had enough. If the kid wanted to do serious damage, he could have picked the kid up and slammed him again, he could have just beat him into oblivion. He didn't. He showed restraint. He proved his point and walked on.

Oh yeah--the bottom line. If the skinny little shit wasn't picking on him---he doesn't end up with a busted ankle.

Sorry if this was mentioned already but I didn't have an opportunty to read the thread in its entirety.

Don't think this is the US, but it is some western industrialized democracy, so that difference is irrelevant. All these schools preach turn the other cheek and go tell an adult about when a kid is bullied. Despite all these interest groups, parent groups, programs etc our fukkin schools are so goddamn reactive and not at all proactive in combating bullying. They catch wind of an episode of bullying from a student or whatever, and can do nothing but sit on their hands, most shit falls through the cracks unless it is out and out witnessed by school personnel. So if I had a kid i'd fukkin tell him to stick up to pukes like that twig kid. The school are so encumbered with their bureaucratic bullshit they can't help anyone until its too fukking late. And now the bullied is punished, unreal. In the realm of school that's feasible but in the realm ofrationality and reasoning the kid did what any person his age should do, stick up for himself. And at least this outbreak diffused the situation so it didn't reach the point of no return for the kid his bully and potentially his schoolmayes.

He also didn't just pick him up and slam him. He charged at the kid to stop him from hitting him. They grabbed each other and the little kid didn't stop so he got slammed.

The school is wrong for letting this kid get picked on for so long. If its posted online there is no way the school will not hear about it.

The big kids father is wrong for telling his son not to hit anyone.

My kids are told to not to start fights but if someone tries to start something they are allowed to finish it. If my kids are picking on someone they will be in shit. If they hit someone in the mouth that is trying to pick on them and won't stop they will get a high five.

Did you notice how after he got slammed, his body guard goon buddy went right up to his face but did NOTHING.. he acted tough, but the goon was scared shitless. you know why?? cause it's called respect.. he noticed that fat kid wasn't so weak after all, so even he was scared. i love it how he acted so tough like he wanted to beat him for doing it, then backed away, and then when fat kid left, he chased him half way like to say..."yeah, you better leave, you're lucky i don't kill you" i love it.
