How do you think the 11 teams from the much hyped best conference will do overall. I look for a major let down like we have seen in years past from strong ACC fields.
Do you think the Big East will be a let down in the Tourny

#2I don't see why they wouldn't disappoint. They always do. The Big East Tourney is the real tourney to a lot of these kids. That said, I think 2-3 will lose their first game... And will definitly look for good fade opportunities. Depends how the public is eyeballing them. There's always lots of dog value with the BE.Comment -

#5Big East will be different this year because everyone else is just so weak. At least the Big East played games every week. 3 out of 4 final four teams will be from the Big EastComment -

#14Teams that can win it all: Syr, Pitt, Louvll, UConn and maybe NotreDame
Teams that have no shot: Villanova, Gtown, WV, Mqtt
Wild cards are St Johns, Cincy ... they may win 3 or bounce in 1st. Still not sure how tough Cincy is and cant trust St Johns far from home minus Kennedy but I'm rooting for themComment -

#15Pitt and Uconn are the only teams I would consider to put in the Final Four of my Bracket..........
I think there's 3 paths where Big East teams would meet in the 2nd round, so I don't expect many to go deepComment -

#23The Big East has been in existence for 30 years starting with only 7 teams in 1980. They have added 9 teams throughout the 30 years. They have won 5 titles in those 30 years and current Big East member Louisville also added 2 titles during that time while not a member of the Big East so the current conference makeup has accounted for 7 titles in last 30 years. Having just got back from the Big East tournament, I am not sure they have a strong title favorite. I clearly think Ohio St, Duke, Kansas are the favorites. But I do think teams like Pitt, Uconn, Syracuse, and Louiville, and Notre Dame are all quality teams that could go deep and have a shot.Comment -

#24It seems like they are a let down every season in the tournament. Villanova and Pittsburgh tend to have great regular seasons and then meltdown in tournies.Comment -

Villanova made the final four 2 years ago. In last 6 years - 4 sweet sixteen, 2 Elite 8, 1 final four - Not bad for a small school located in the suburbs that cant recruit with the National programs like Duke, Kansas, UNC, Kentucky etc. and Villanova has something a lot of schools lack a National Championship.
Pitt has really only re-emerged as a National power since Jamie Dixon took over as Coach 8 years ago. They have had 5 sweet 16 in last 8 years and 1 final 8. Not bad/Not greatComment -

#26you ever think theyre bad in the tourney because they beat the shit out of each other in the regular season then have to go battle it out in NY.....not trying to support them but im saying its a long grueling year for big east teams...besides depaul everyteam this year could compete. cant say that about other leaguesComment -

#28You can probably say that for 80% of the teams in the tourney.

they actually became good when Ben Howland took over a few years before that. Jamie, was an assistant of his.Comment -

Big East teams play too physical in conference play, and the refs let stuff go.
but come tourney time, they are a) all beat up and exhausted from playing so many ranked teams. and b) they encounter non big east refs that don't let them bang down low. and when they change/adjust their style they end up losingComment -

in basketball terms?
big east is the biggest grind. for a top conference, they travel ALOT and its the style of play, and type of players that they have there. Beyond that, Yeah I mean when half of your conference is a top 25 ranked teams, you don't get many nights off. Other than Depaul that aren't too many gimme games. You can't even sleep on Rutgers anymore.Comment -
