Is Joe Girardi really that stupid?
    1. pitches to Manny with 1b open....loses
    2. doesn't have Damon bunt....loses
    3. leaves Jaba in too long....loses

    today:

Damon leadoff double in 7th. instead of having Melky bunt he strikes out
    and they don't score.

keeps Dorf (who?) in too long and gives up 3 hits to lose the game.

Did this idiot forget how to manage when he put on the pinstripes?????

    Did you watch the game..??

Melky tried to bunt and was awkward as hell doing it, he got the count to 0-2 that way and then swung on the next pitch and even that swing was cockeyed. That was the at bat from hell.

Girardi was an average (or slightly below average) in-game manager when he was with the Marlins.

He was a great motivator and and a very good disciplinarian but he made many questionable in game decisions so I don't think it's anything new.

I was real happy for him in 2006 when he won Manager of the Year but that had more to do with a lot of the unknown talent the Marlins had, not his in-game moves.

      <-----Die-hard Marlins fan.

doesn't matter if he had 2 strikes. u gotta bunt in that situation.
bunting with 2 strikes is still far easier than a full swing.
and since he was 0-3 with tons of runners left stranded
he had to bunt with Jeter and A-rod coming up.

Captn Crutch hitting into a DP in the 9th didn't help
          but it shouldn't have mattered.

leaving in DORf baf was beyond stupid.

I was actually glad they hired him because I thought he'd
be more hands on and coming from NL he would manufacture
runs a la Scioscia and Ozzie but its been polar opposites.
He just sits there and waits for 10 run innings like Torre used to do.

I hope the Tankees lose 90 games this season so he'll be fired. Hes
            just a nitwit.

Milky can't bunt for sheit, well today anyway. If you watched the game, you would of seen that he would of been better off trying to get a base hit. He was so uncomfortable trying that sac bunt today.

Needless to say, I jumped on the Yankees early today for tomorrows game.

melky is their best bunter and it was joe who
paniced and removed the bunt sign. if u can't bunt
with 2 strikes u need to be kicked out of the league. even
pitchers know how, u see it all the time in the NL.

and what the hell was he saving jabo for? post game press conference?

Removing the bunt had nothing to do with the first few attempts at the bunt. Not sure if he is their best bunter, but damn, he doesn't look like he does it much.

I've seen Melky bunt and he definately knows how to.
numerous analysts have also said he is their best bunter.

then why did joe remove the bunt sign? because it was two strikes
and he paniced. never said because he looked bad. his three at bats
prior looked far worse. bunting never slumps.

You are dumb...you make a thread talking about something you appear to know nothing about. MELKY is not the best buntter on the team...and second if you saw that at bat you would easily have noticed that Melky was not comfortable trying to bunt and was failing miserably. Therefore they called off the bunt, giving him at least a chance to hit the ball.

Francona hasn't looked too sharp the past 2 games. Not bunting when he should have, and not bringing in Papelbon when he could have.

Red Sox on a bad run right now.

Red Sox's blunder are questionable compared to Yankee's lately...

These managers have the players, coaching means nothing in MLB , you do not need a manager and outcomes of games would be the same.
