The books didn't win Shit from me...I plan on continuing to take the phuckers money. I will not be satisfied until I am +20 for the playoffs...phuck the books.

              Oh snap.

Drunken honesty is always good, hopefully I'm not on your shit list. The only thing I hate is when people drunk dial me, especially at 4:30 in the morning..

I'll never understand this neverending preoccupation with how the books fared on a nightly basis. As if anyone's livelihood here depends on how they did.

Trust me I know a lot of sports gambler who only bet locally, and I'd say 80% of them are losers. They might hit big here and their, but are too greedy. Greed is the down fall of most gamblers, not quiting while your ahead, that's why the books will always be around. It's no different than people winning 10k on a slot machine and end of losing all of it the same day, happens a lot.

Exactly frost the books are good to go they will not shut down and the ones who don't pay its uaually not because they dont have the money to pay they just rather keep it all,
between greed, playing in there casino and just normal straight up losers the books will always be around

How many people do you think gamble without doing anything at all related to capping a game. I know I used to before I joined here and found out what handicapping was and trust me it is extremely easy to lose a good bundle of cash. That is why I said the quote that is in Iwin's sig...directly from that experience.

You can do just fine in sports with just following trends, (but i guess that is capping too)

You have to know what to look for. A vast majority of capping is highly overrated and very 'public' I guess the right word is. Something one shouldn't lose sight of is any number of stats or whatever can be molded together to best fit your hunch. Better to define a substance or groundwork for your picks, much more important than the games themselves.

Yeah but I would look at nothing but the teams...blind betting without looking at anything at all and with hardly any knowledge of the NBA.
Trends play a huge part in my O/U capping but not too much in capping sides.

Not sure what you mean by hunch but would imagine that would mean the team you would pick without any capping. I honestly think that can easily get you in trouble because you will search for anything to solidify that pick instead of looking into the game completely and coming out with the best play.

Right. If somebody leans one way to start, sometimes it's easy to fall in love with stats that only suit your hunch, that's why setting a precedent in how you approach games is so important. Merely watching things play out on TV will lead anyone to the slaughterhouse.

Ok...I get what you are saying now and agree with you 100% and honestly think that is a huge downfall of a lot of us. I will admit that I have done plenty of it but feel as I have gotten deeper into the season and gained experience that I have control of it. I am sure that it would be fairly safe to assume that most of us did that a lot when we first started out.

Agree. One thing that's good about you is you seem very sober in plays you post. I never see you really chase or get tilted, always seem to stay grounded and objective. Maybe I'm off base but that's the kind of impression I get, emotional control is half the battle. Some of the sharpest guys I know can't control their finances.

I tilt every now and then but usually just write it off as a losing day and move on to the next day primarily because the emotion involved with it throws perception off badly. Even if I do decide to chase it is usually a calculated chase from a game I was borderline to playing and still is just for 1 unit. All in all I have found that as I go on the emotions have faded considerably because I now look at it as one loss in a long season.
