Bear Breaks Into New Jersey Home
VERNON, N.J. (AP) ― Wildlife officials were trying to trap a bear that broke into a home in Vernon and attacked garbage in the kitchen.

A police officer fired a shotgun at the bear, but officials don't believe the animal was wounded.

State officials have already trapped three bears in the Lake Wanda neighborhood to condition them to fear and avoid humans.

animals are the best and their lives are just as valuable as our own. hell, we're animals ourselves; likely the worst kind.

The bear's family was probaly on that land long before the house was even built. How does one "conditon" a bear to fear humans? Beat the shit out of it, that's how. Now, are they really conditioning it to stay away from humans, or conditioning it to "kill or be killed" when it sees a human?

If i was a bear i'd probably want to mess some people up. people act with ill intent, animals act on instinct. large difference, i respect most animals more than i do many people.

Animals have no ill intent. If a bear attacks you, it's doing it to protect itself, not to be a meanie.

It is hard to keep animals out of the habitat for humans because humans keep claiming more land for themselves, and we have all the food sitting in the garbage can out by the side of the house. I'm surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen every day.

Maybe it would if so many animals weren't killed for no reason.

Well if a bear is in a house and people in there it will kill so you must kill the bear, anyone to choose the bear over a human should be executed.

If the bear comes after you, yeah...shoot it. BUT, if it's rumaging through your kitchen and you can exit the house safely to call animal control, why not try the less violent alternative? After all, he's only there because we have stolen his land and food supply.

We go into the bears home and kill them all the time. why shouldn't they return the favor from time to time?

Animal lovers are one of main groups that wrecked this Country. We need to focus more on human behavior than animal behavior.

I think animal activists take things a wee bit too far at times, but if more people loved animals and looked to them as an example of how to look at life, the world would be a much better place.

My dog, for example, would always greet me with his tail wagging...even if I had gated him into his room the night before for ripping apart the garbage. Why? Because even though we disagreed on whether or not the garbage was acceptable for him to eat from, he loved me...and the most important thing you can do in life is make sure the people you love know it.

                                      Hasn't every dog owner?

I swear, mine was a sneaky thing. He was 80 pounds with bad hips and still managed to tip toe when he needed to. Do yours start eating faster when they see you coming? Mine did. I would have to lock him up, because he'd be over my shoulder while I was picking it up seemingly saying: "Nope, you can eave that right there...yeah, go ahead and pick that up, I already licked it clean...hey! how did I miss that rotten chicken?! Gimmie!!" The worst was the time he cut his nose on a catfood can, bled all over the floor, then walked in it and left bloody paw prints in every room of the house. Man I miss that dog...never a dull moment.

You should read my MySpace blogs, Mo. You'd feel my pain.
