Matchbook leaving the US

You can get a bank account in many parts of the world. Countries that will open one with no questions include Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Antigua, etc. Europe is a pain in the ass. I tried to open one in London and they wanted employment papers and visas.

Why? If youll trudge to some hellhole outside the US to open an account doesnt that get around the US laws

There are, in most countries, different types of account. It's possible to give you an account with no ability to go overdrawn or write cheques. In Denmark, even with a job, I could not get anything more than a debit deposit account -- giving you this poses no risk to the bank, and you could receive/send bank wires quite happily. Australia is a bit more lenient with what they give you (basically a proper account) but requires a lot more ID.

I dont know i think im gonna try and move there and see what happens. Im not to far away to take a trip there, plus i have family there. It cant be that hard and once u do it then no more issues with this crap,plus u get to add pinny and all the other good stuff. I would think you would need to show a place of residence, bank account and maybe a drivers license to fund a non US account. Remember, books make you jump through hoops when you got to make a withdrawal. I think it is to much trouble unless you are a professional or plan to bet a dime or more per game. 5 Dimes and Betphoenix still have 5 cent lines. Betmaker may improve since Matchbook is closed to US customers. Good Luck.

Canada,BMO,.....drivers license+ passport and you get an account...best is non-interest bearing and keep it under $10,000. Private, anonymous and completely legal if you know what you are doing. Yes, you do have to go there in person.

From what I know, the owner is seeding the market. He's a big NBA and hockey bettor, so those markets will be liquid. They may seed soccer too, but I'm not sure. You will not see much liquidity in the other stuff(NCAA, NBA futures, golf, MMA, etc) because of the loss of customers.
