It makes me sick to my stomach when I see all the complaints about certain sports books, about individuals not being paid, bettors being stiffed, books closing down, players not being paid because it is sharp money: Give me a frickin break. If a online casino offers different numbers and gets beat by a wiseguy then good for him. I just don't get it. It would be intelligent for the governments of Canada and the USA to legalize sports gambling, so that a lot of these books can finish their dishonest businesses. Could you imagine, a government website that has thousands of bettors signed up. Lets say 100,000 people, or more all paying a minimal annual fee, of which most goes to charitable causes. There is absolutely no juice on bets, only your yearly minimal yearly fee, of less than 200.00. You deposit as much as you want to your account. When you place a bet it is a MAKE OR TAKE a wager. For instance, I am willing to bet 100.00 on the Giants +10 points against the Patriots. Any takers of my bet would have to have enough money in their account. The betting public would then actually be making the line. I might not get any action on my wager, and would have to create a better line. Any interest on all deposits would also go to charity. This becomes a site whereby one person is betting against another. One wins the coin, the other loses. Anyone can withdraw or deposit at anytime. Any interest made on deposits would also go to charity. Money stays in our countries, juice is eliminated, and large amounts of money is pumped backed into the economy. Any disheartened bookies want to refute this?

The provincial governments in Canada already have legalized sports gambling.
Ontario's sports gambling game is called Proline. Its hard to win but I managed to make a profit on it a couple of years by doing "edge plays"-ie playing the Ontario Gaming Corp odds against the casino sharp lines.

Most of my profit was playing bases W/L, college basketball "ties" and football spreads. Sometimes their lines would be off a point or even a point and a half and of course they never changed their lines.
It was frustrating though because the ****ers would take a game off the list if the line moved too much.Comment -

i could possibly see legalization of pro sports betting, but i don't think america will ever legalize college sports betting, considering a lot of people want to get rid of college betting in vegas.Comment -

Any form of legalized online wagering the US will originate in Vegas and will be -110/-110 on major US sport sides.

If it were ever legal in the US (Vegas) I would expect an exchange type operation similar to Betfair/Matchbook etc. would eventually open up. The market would be huge and there are plenty of savy investors/business people that could set it up. There would be too much money to be made to not have an exchange.Comment
