Anyone remember the late John Kordic 0f the Montreal Canadiens? He died in a battle with 20 cops trying to arrest him in a hotel room in Quebec city where he almost won the battle before he spazzed out and died almost 20 years ago. He was on roids and god knows what else.
OK,so that wasn't the cool side of Kordic.Kordic I don't think ever lost a fight as long as he was in the NHL.He took on all comers. He was a high scoring wing in Jr.Hockey in Canada but was drafted as a heavy handed enforcer. His parents were backwards euro immigrants-Native Canadian Indians-foreigners and frowned upon Kordic being used as a goon to settle scores. When he got into a fight at the legendary Montreal Forum they used to play the theme song,Popeye the sailor man and after he pummeled his opponent he used to kiss his fist.
Kordic was a combination of Steve ** Queen and Paul Newman as far as who would play him in a movie if there ever was a movie made about him which there hasn't been yet.
Anyone here remember John Kordic and if they do,was he as cool as I think he was?He was actually a mild mannered guy that was used sort of as a goon prop.
That was back in the day when the NHL was like a gunfight at the OK corral when every team would hire a Shane to settle old scores.
