The line makes sense to me. The Astros are quite bad, Young is one of the 10 best pitchers in baseball, and the Padres have one of the best bullpens.

His home record is worse than his road record, 16-8 vs 16-12, and the eras are about the same. But Backe is not very good , nor is the Houston lineup. That being said I would stay away from both sides.

His home ERA was 1.69 last season. OPP BA was .170

In 2006 his home ERA was 4.62, in about the same amount of innings as 2007.

Houston has enough bats to give them a shot. Plus its so early in the season, pitchers will not all be at the top of their game.

I know its super early, but some of the managerial moves made I find very...questionable.

I think Houston lineup has some potential, but why have Loretta near the bottom..I think he should be a number 2 hitter instead of Spence....Im not sure of Bourne as lead off, he s got speed, but looks over matched early on. The idea with the your 1 and 2 hitters is to get on or move guys around, these 2 arent doing it.

Watching the Texas game too, why the hell do u leave Benoit in so long.maybe they are soft hits, but when u have a 2 run lead and u allow 2 hits and 2 walk, 2 runs, and still have the bases loaded with one out, im thinking you probably dont have your best stuff...its like the managers are throwing away games..is it that hard to make a change....I m just checking cbs scoreboard.

Pitching is the key yes. But managers set the tone with their lineups and moves/bullpens/pinch hitters/how long to stay with the starters...

I always think its worth considering, bunching your hot hitters together, instead of staggering them with crappy hitters...why have 2 men stranded with 2 outs, because a sure out cold hitter of .200 is up to bat...
