Racist? He is suing a college that gave him a free ride because HE dropped a barbell on himself. Stop stalking me and go back to counting your millions

Yes, is a racist remark due to your need to use the term 'ghetto' referring to the fact that the plaintiff is black.
Also, given the suit alludes that someone else present agrees the spotter wasn't paying attention and released the bar before he was ready and will testify to that fact suggests there is more to it than your simplistic summary.

Blah, blah, blah. Tort reform is sorely needed in this country to keep insurance rates from going through the roof. The world would have been better off if the barbell would have killed him.
He has a son named...Stafon Johnson Jr. Can't make this up.

Seems like there is a case that should be submitted to a fact finder. Recovery will likely be greatly (or wholly) reduced depending on whether cali is a state adhearing to contributary negligence or comparative fault, aka you the plaintiff added to the harm.

Boner don't people take on the liabilities by entering a gym and lifting heavy weights unless the equipment fails?

yes but another person's negligence (employee of the venue or otherwise) can be 'a' or 'the' causal factor contributing to any injury of course ... which is what is alleged in this case seemingly
