#2Yes, I'd leave a note. Something like this:
I hit your car, hopefully there isn't much damage, I won't be sticking around to find out. Hope your day gets better. L8er!Comment -

#5I would leave a note. I had my car hit twice (2 different cars actually) and it didn't feel good when you come to your car and see its new design. But an event like this is unlikely to happen, so I'm not worrying or thinking about these things much.Comment -

#6I really hope I dont ever find out, id like to think id do the right thing and call the law and get a report.Besides if you hit another car hard enough to do damage, more than likely you got damage to your own car. Your insurance isnt going to fix your car without a police report.

It would be smart to leave a note, because there could be witnesses who jot your plate number down and call the cops. I guess that's what the bitch who hit my car was thinking anyways.
I would like to believe I would leave my info.... but I hope I never find out.Comment -

#10I think the bitch was just more of a ditz than anything. That's pretty shrewd, though, leaving a note so witnesses don't take your plate #.
She might as well have written that on the note itself.Comment -

#20Dame here exactly! And about police report, if there no significant damage you probably shouldn't notify insurance anyway. Last time i asked police for report they told me if there isn't dispute lets you insurance to handle that, they didn't even comeComment -

#22you don't need a police report to file an insurance claim. but most don't anyways because they carry $1000 deductible so they would have to pay out of pocket anyways, so what's the point.
but if i saw who did it, i'd certainly call the cops.Comment -

#24During college my dad got me a new (new-to-me) Oldsmobile Cutlass. I drove it to a sports bar to watch a big bet lose. After the loss I hung around to have a few and wasn't in real sharp shape so my girlfriend was driving me home. It's dark but when I get out to the car and see paper in my windshield I promptly crinkle up the flyer and throw it like I'm Roger Clemens (if Roger Clemens was drunk and pitched paper). The next afternoon (I slept through the morning) I realize that the flyer I tossed was probably some drunk's IOU note. Had I not lost that game I would have not taken advantage of pint night and probably would have noticed the scrap metal dangling from the passenger door. Bad beat there.Comment -

#26I think it depends on how hard you hit the car. You could leave a note if you tap someone, but better hope they don't try to use you to pay for major repairs that aren't your fault.Comment -

#28You got to be nuts to leave a note because if it happened to you the other party would take off.
Don't report them if no one sees unless of course you hit somene you have to stay and help them out, ect.Comment -
