It comes in waves, man, NHL is sometimes up and down and losing periods are replaced by the winning ones. You should probably sustain, if you feel you have some edge. One bad month is enough to make one disgusted or even discouraged, but if you stick to good money management, you can be ok in a longer run. GL!

Yes, NHL is believed to be one of the hardest and most unpredictable leagues to cap. No doubt. But I know a plenty of cappers who are doing great there. Most of them, however, have been betting NHL for many years and have created their "systems" (i hate this word in connection with betting). If someone wants to bet NHL and is a rookie, he should probably start with observing or just betting on the sheet without a real money for some time.

NHL is next to impossible to win consistently in. Anyone that does win consistently congrats...I only bet it for fun now and VERY small units compared to other sports.

Yeah, OT´s are killing me too, it´s like I win only 2 of each 10 games that go to OT. Don´t know why is that. The similarity with taking the longest or slowest queue in the shopping mall always comes to my mind. These things, although they might seems highly subjective, really work. As for the dogs, I don´t bet anything else except for some special occasions or situations, but sometimes there come periods when you simply pick the wrong ones, or the dogs don´t hit at all. You cannot make fortune betting dogs blindly, it is enough to just keep your head above the water level. The best combination is being sharp hitting heavy dogs

But don´t wanna venture into the realm of myths and Legends here

I have had hit or miss luck, playing hot goalies (atlanta) has done me well , and riding against the Islanders is relatively safe

Pucklines dawg and pick your spots, no more than 1 a day and not every day.

Elite teams when they play at home after a night off vs mediocre to bad teams.

Look for teams who are playing well and when they play against their rival. Bet on their rival if the rival historically on the series. you can get goood odds especially if other team playing well.

NHL is fairly simple to bet just keep an eye out for hot goalies and teams that have been hot on the power play. Also dont bet on teams who are struggling, dont bet against good home teams at home and dont bet bad road teams on the road. I also dont like betting big favorites or big dogs.

And look at home/away wins and loses like tonight in the San Jose/St Louis game

San Jose 8-9 on the road
St Louis 10-4 at home

And yet St Louis is a +105 dog

I dont like St Louis tonight for other reasons but you see stuff like this all the time, a good team overall but is only .500 on the road vs an average team that is a few games over .500 at home and a lot of times they are a dog.
