He'll never be able to do anything with the $25K chips though... completely worthless.

Spread the wealth, these casinos had made bunch of profits already. Good for him! i believe that these chips have some sort of gold value on them. He would maybe sell them as gold or cash it through numbers of people.

All he has to do is cash them a little at a time. He can walk in to the Belagio next week and cash in a $1,000 worth of chips. Then he can walk over to another casino and cash in another 1,000. Most of the big casinos take each other's chips. Then he can do it again in another few days.

no one even cares. there must be a way they can make the chips uncashable. big deal the casino has been robbing people for years so turnabout is fair play.

the chips are worthless. they all have rfid technology. whoever tries to cash them is getting detained. no casinos in vegas are honoring bellagio chips either. ballsy crime, but dumb.

OK, someone tell me why a casino needs a chip in a denomination of $25,000. How often are you giving those out, once a week . . . maybe?

Let's just say way more often than you think. Lots of high rollers out there, and Bellagio is high-end.

it really depends on what denomination of chips he took. if he was smart and took small ones it will be easy to cash

Same guy hit a smaller casino in Vegas last week and got 20K in chips, guessing it was a dress rehearsal for the Bellagio

Nice hit dude, should have been cash though. When I lived in NV I witnessed a guy run into a casino right as the cash cart was waiting for the elevator (about 20 feet from the door). He snatched a couple of bags and ran out.
As far as I know they have never caught him.
Way to pay the Casino's back.

Sounds like something out of a movie. Anyways if this person can't cash it he or she can trick people into buying it for a cheaper price.

Every big casino has players on at the bare minimum a weekly basis using the blue 25k chips. The bigger spots will have them in action daily.
Pretty much every major casino has rfid in every chip $500 and above and more than 1/2 have them in the $100's. If you are not a known player the cage at most casinos wont cash purple and up without checking with the pit you say they came from anyways.

I went to Tunica recently and they seem way more laid back about chips. I was drinking a lot so maybe I just didn't notice it as much. But some local places in Vegas used to call the pit for 5 in black. I don't think they we were calling on anything under an MTL. But maybe Harrah's and MGM are looser about that sort of thing.

Sorry I took so long to answer your question-WHICH ONE ? Went to Las Vegas Sun free edition website. Did archive search on the Bellagio incident. Read the whole article-that page also included the security tapes of the robbery. 3 videos of this incident. That lead to the article on the fellow known as Robinhood 702. He is a huge blackjack player that hands out cash to the less fortunate. This Robin Hood 702 has put up 50,000 in reward money out of his own pocket. RobinHoods interviews can also be seen-he has been on Fox news and other TV investigative shows. This guy [ the robber]had pistols in both hands-all black clothes-walked up to a poker table-about 6 players were there {if my memory serves me well** demanded the chips - and fled. 911 was called before he even exited the building-guard had a shot- but did not wish to hit any bystanders. Seemed like the big chips just happened to be there. The interview with the chief stated there was a similar incident, unreported to the public- robbery at the Sun Coast 30 days earlier. hope I answered your questions- your a good man-should have explained better the first time. Happy New Year to all.
