pdf's apply to anything and everything...tell him to research something more specific...
Of course they do. I'm merely asking him to think of the outcomes of sporting events as distributions rather than single pre-determined outcomes. If you read his statement, you should understand why.

You made it $22 to call pre-flop. There was already $38 in the pot and you had $172 behind that you were obviously willing to push into the pot. $22/$210 = about 9.5(ish) to 1 pot odds for him to call in a hand where he is only a 4(ish) to 1 underdog.

Tough hand. Perhaps he was berating you afterwards because he thought it might encourage you to reload and seek vengeance. I do that sometimes.

I don't play much NL Hold Em lately, but I got a similar beat last night. I got QQ in early position. I put in the standard raise, 3x the blind, which I've been doing at this table with various solid hands. Loose monkey with short stack in middle position calls, everyone else folds. Flop comes 845 rainbow, giving me a backdoor flush draw. I bet the size of the pot because I'm not getting away from this hand anyway, he calls all-in. What did he have?

Amazingly, this beat didn't bother me at all. If anything, he played the hand well, because in theory he can throw his trash away on most flops. He's "only" a 4 to 1 dog preflop. If you haven't yet guessed his hand, it was 76 offsuit. At least with the AA versus 57 hand mentioned earlier, you got your money in much more live, I was dead to a runner runner.

Unless your queens were suited you didn't have a backdoor flush draw on a rainbow flop.

If you know all about it why would you make such an absurdly moronic statement like the one I quoted?

Sure it does. The title of this thread is about why sports betting is better than poker, and you say the following:

the poker experiment sucked more dik than a swedish porn star and was too god damn volatile and unpredictable....I'll trust what I consider as sealing my fate on a predetermined bet I place, not some random-ass cards dealt to me.
[x] lack of understanding of distribution of outcomes
                    [x] moronic statement
[_] has a clue about sports betting

why do you assail me pondscum? I know what the hell I am talking about when it comes to distro functions you meatflubber. I COMPREHEND how it affects sporting events as well as poker. Both relate to random happenings occuring. The 57 offsuit was random, such as the random event that I encountered an abrasive a-hole on here who doesnt know such common words as dubious. Educate me more, master donjuan. Don Juan me big boy. If you cant, go shave your mom's back....

Obviously you don't as you have failed to retract your earlier statement and there are numerous statements which belie that, including the classic one about predetermined outcomes.

Yeah, I figured this out right after I shut my computer off. I was going from memory, then remembered I had a backdoor. The flop was two-suited. Basically I was a 10 to 1 dog on the flop when I put the guy all-in with the nuts.

Poker can get to anyone at certain times.
At one point I was playing a good 40 hours a week playing poker. 3/6 and 5/10 limit holdem, and 10-50 dollar 10 man tournaments online. I did pretty good, kept me alive during a time i had no money or job. But the days I just couldn't win, all I wanted to do was just go crazy and get drunk and bone some chick (releasing aggresion I guess).
