I watched this at 10,very depressing story "If only I did that instead" applies huge
Then somehow I watched "Tim Richmond: To the Limit" on youtube after

I was literally crying, I could have handled Dupree story alone, but Tims story set me off

Jesus I didn't think these stories were so depressing, give me some like "The U"

He was doing fairly well for the Rams when he was unexpectadly cut.So why at least didn't he go to Canada to play????It's not like he had alot of skills where he could make a decent living outside of football. To this day he does oddball stuff working for Howard Stern just being a goofy almost celebrity. These football players are more like beasts of burden where they have no brains at all.If he loved football so much, maybe he could have been a star playing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders? His reasoning was probably that it gets too cold there.

Guy looked as if he was an absolute beast. I had never heard of him. Quite a touching story though, wonder what would have happened if he goes to Texas. Youngest heisman ever? Shatters record after record? Great job by espn.

He said near the end he wasn't upset that he was cut by the Rams, his whole goal was to play in the NFL so his kids could see him play live. And he did that so he was at peace. I think at that point he seemed ready to move on to the next phase of his life.

As for a beast of burden, he is doing honest work as a truck driver and gulf coast cleanup. It's not like all the guy is doing is oddball jobs for stern. He holds down full time jobs. I commend him for doing something rather than collecting unemployment or living solely off his past.

I think if he played for Texas instead everything would of turned out different and for the best, Switzers ego was in the way. Would've, Could've, Should've...

When he was cut his breakaway speed was gone. He was good for some 8and 9 yards runs but that was it. He could still play but the Rams management wanted to go in a different direction. I can remember the morning I picked up the L.A. Times sports section and read he had been released. I was surprised. He seemed to be improving. I disagreed with the move at that time. Until tonight I never knew the full history.

He was built like Bo Jackson
                      Strong as a fukkin ox
I think he was so gifted he was lazy so did not work out a lot

Easliy would of been greatest running back we have ever seem

I will never forget the Orange Bowl game he played, fukkin unreal

he lacked the fortitude to be a success. albeit the injuries took their toll but he was no jim brown and never would have been as good as the syracuse/cleveland running back who must be rated as the best of all time.

To say he never would have been as great as JB is arbitrary. Who knows what could have been. But one things for sure, he ended up a bust and thats what the documentary was about.

It is truly a tragic story because so many betrayed him along the way. He had all the god given talent anyone ever would need and some, this was evident just watching the films. But he's just as responsible for his eventual demise as anynoe else and I think he'll be the first to admit it.

Props to ESPN for putting on a great show

I noticed this too. But, I'm almost positive it was one hundred yard dash. 28 feet more would probably be 10.5 in the 100 meters. Very touching story. And a classic case of, "if i knew what i knew now." Hit home for me.

                                                  Asinine:

                                                  Adjective

Failing to exercise intelligence or judgment; ridiculously below average rationality.

I watched this a few months ago and just saw this thread. I decided to watch it again. Most stories don't touch me the way this 1 did.

Pretty wild that he made a comeback with the Rams after that nasty knee injury.

Great show. Switzer comes off as a dolt in this documentary

I saw this a few weeks ago and he was a beast. He was as stong as AP (maybe stonger) but not as fast. Barry Switzer came across as a douchebag I remember thinking.

I liked this one too, especially all the gratuitous jheri curl shots. Still not as good as The Two Escobars, though. That one was legitimately great cinema.
