Anyone ever agree to place bets in Vegas for friends that you ended up booking?
Has anyone ever gone to Vegas where friends or family gave you money to place a certain bet and you thought it was such a bad bet you kept the money and more or less booked the bet yourself?

I know in the old days before online sportsbooks came along, guys I knew or worked with would give me $20-$50 to place bets especially when big events like the final 4 were going on.Some seemed outrageously bad and I had notions to more or less not place the bets and act as the bookie myself. The problem there is,I would have been on the hook for many a grand if the outrageous longshots would have all come in.That's how it works you know!hehe!Your Vegas vacation could turn into a nightmare.

Has anyone here taken money to place a bet for someone and not placed the bet and it ended up winning where you forked over the cash? There has to be a few good stories like that with all the degenerate gamblers here?Someone figured that they could eat in Vegas all week for free on one friend's bet money you didn't place because you thought it was a loser.hehe!

The bad thing there is,even friends would be pissed if you didn't bring back the losing betting slip to show them you placed the bet.

Not in Vegas but I've put bets in for friends in my sportsbook account and sometimes I would just not put the bet in and take it myself. You can even manipulate the line in your favor a little. Tell them you only got +6.5 instead of +7

If you don't place the bet your basically betting against him... so that's dumb imo

Man, I'd just love to be a friend of yours. If your lying to them about what line you got, don't kid yourself that they're are a friend of yours- they're just someone you use for a financial angle.

Appalachian State won't ''can't'' beat Michigan on the moneyline,I'll just take that friend's bet money and buy a Nudes on Ice ticket with it.

Am I outdating myself where Nudes on Ice is still running in Vegas or was that old school Vegas no one can remember? Not a good combination, nude women and sharp skates. You want to get a new axe wound to compliment the one you were born with..hehe!

They could have added funny crap like that in the Vegas Vacation movie with Chevy Chase instead of him just losing a bunch of money hitting a cold spell on blackjack.Clark Grizwald on top of losing all his own money could have lost all his friends money too where he couldn't show his face again at the food additives company he worked for owing everyone money.Clark would have had to mortgaged his house to pay off all the friends bets that won that he never placed and all he had to show for the friends money was worthless Vegas crap like Celine Deon tickets,20 rides on the Big Shot ride on top the Stratosphere and paying for strippers colored water drinks at Glitter Gulch.

Not a good idea, always ends up in trouble

If your going to do it do not book on your own big parlays, round robins, bird cages, teasers, ML bets and in horses don't books exotics.

Alot of times I find myself at the track on big race days and someone calls me to place a bet for them. I hate this because Im struggling at the track and I can't give up some of my bullets to front someone else. So alot of times I just end of booking it myself.

Also I was letting one guy bet through me with my local and if we disagreed on a play I wouldnt call in the bet both ways obv, so I would just book it.

Reminds of the old story of some guy, supposedly a terrible bettor, who would call his girlfriend in Vegas to place a bet for him. She would invariably, a. bucket the money, b. fade him, and c. win.

Happens all the time with me. If a friend wants something I usually just book it unless a) I'm playing the same way or b) I know the guy is a winner. I'm holding bets right now on the Giants ML that a friend has bet. Where else am I gonna get the Pats ML for -420?

I don't bet through Vegas, but have several internet outs. A few of my closest friends know this and ask me to make bets for them. Their action is small, so I often book it myself.--unless I'm on that particular side too. But I will give them the lines and totals ahead of time (usually a consensus of the lines I can get), not knowing their picks. They bet at -110, not -105 or less (Matchbook). They like the action and I'm happy to provide it--and no one gets ripped off. You don't cheat friends.

When I used to play blackjack professionally friends would sometimes ask me to place various bets for them. One friend always bet her birthdate on roulette. I always told her she won. I'm just glad she only played $5. LOL Cost me $175 but made someone very happy. If the person asking me to place the bet was only betting a small amount I almost always told them they won.

I was at a blackjack table one night and this guy was there with his wife and she asked him if she could have some chips for souveniers (how do you spell this damm word?). The cheapass mother ****er gave her a white and a red, and acted like it was killing him to do that. So, I tossed her a green and a black and told her to put them someplace safe. She put them in her bra. It was worth the $125 to watch that. The count got quite large so I told her to bet her black and green and if she lost I would replace them. She won. LOL It was so much fun watching her take chips out of her "vault" and put them back.

I have held several bets that friends asked me to place thru my local bookie. I do tell them that I held the bet myself as long as I have their money. If not, I tell them after they pay me. I wouldn't break a friends leg, but my bookie might. lol

Willie why tell them? In my case I called and gave him the line, he says he wants 100. It's better if he thinks it's going through a book because there is no stalling with payment. If he owes me it's I'll get you next week or whatever.
