Anyways every time I have been to vegas I dont really care to venture out to "downtown" Sportsbooks are good on the strip and there is more than enough to do there. I dont need to be cool and go to the "cool" place that tourists dont go to.

I don't know if I'd say it's cool or better, it's just different. Less tourists and more of a feel for the real Vegas. If you sit at a table, you're more likely to be surrounded by grinders trying to eke out a living than Tad from Salt Lake in Vegas for a bachelor party. I've met some really cool people downtown - one guy actually taught me how/when to buy points when I was first starting to gamble more seriously. My guy friends always enjoy it more down there too but that may have to do with the price you pay for ho's? Not sure.

To be honest, I prefer a nice comfy room at the Bellagio with all the amenities but to each their own.

I'd definitely suggest you at least check it out. It makes for a nice break from the Strip for a few hours, especially if you're in Vegas at a peak time. There's no shame in wanting a more posh vacation though. Or at least I hope not because if I lose money that day, I prefer to at least stumble back to a nice room/suite. Others prefer to save their money strictly for gambling and don't mind traveling to the Strip. I personally can't be bothered. That's one of the great things about Vegas - it caters to everyone.
