can I talk to you about Jesus.....
I just ran up to Office Depot to get a ink cartridge, and out in the parking lot was some dude with a clipboard. As soon as he locked eyes on me I knew he was going to approach me, I thought maybe he was some campaign person at first, then he introduced himself and started the Jesus spill, I just said" i'm not a religious man" and proceeded to my car, dude started off on some "boy, listen to me, your going to remember me, it'll be in the next few years, probably by 2010, mark my words, you going to wish you had jesus" and some other babble. I thought for a split second about arguing some "prophets of rage" vs. "science of power and knowledge" with him, but i thought "F it, i'll save my breath."
I've been hearing about the world coming to an end since i was a kid, i'm sick of it.

this post is meaningless i know, but shit just ticked me off. sorry everyone.

Just to make this on-topic, don't ever bet on the world to end, no matter how attractive the odds.

Nostradamus said the world would come to an end around 2012 so this would be a good time for making contingency plans.

yeah people need to stop trying to push their religion on you, I mean if its so great why do you have to try and convert everybody and advertise? let it speak for itself . and I agree most of those people are nut jobs, the type that have about 20 crazy cats inside or think that cell phones bring demise to earth.

I stopped going to church regularly a while ago, but am a Roman Catholic.

I wear a cross on my neck, not because of a deep faith, but because I'm a cheesy Italian who likes wearing gold and doesn't buy into this whole new "silver is in" crap.

Seriously though, the thing about religion is we've got so many different races, people all over the world from so many different cultures who believe in a different "god". Each have similar attributes. At the end of the day, who is to say our "god" is more real than theirs? It would seem that ones religion is just something determined by where you live and how you were raised, I hate how people act like their religion is the truth and will bring salvation, everyone believes their way is right.

Totally agree with what your saying crazy, same thing for me I'm Catholic and I go to church at times, but I don't need to press my religion on others.

Same thing with the gold chain - honestly what is with people thinking silver is good - maybe its just my Italian tan but gold looks better

What is really interesting is how everybody has their own cultures, races, religions and they think they are the only ones that are right. I guess its nice to have such a great mix in the U.S., but also have to know how to handle yourself because some of these people are like "my beliefs and everybody else is going to hell," which is really screwed up because do they really think their "God" would be proud they are attacking somebody elses beliefs because they simply dont see eye to eye and have an open mind? It's messed up but that is how people are.

By the way, crazy your in NYC right? Loved going down to little Italy can't wait to get up their again first of this year

The man always knows what he's talking about.

I'd have let the manager inside the store know about the asshole. People using some moronic intimidation angle to witness to me in an Office Depot parking lot can't be up to much good. Let the store run 'em off or at least be aware there's a nutcase on his premises.

Unfortunately yes. Most people are usually excited to come here and I can never understand why. Maybe it's because I live here, but the neighborhood in particular has seen better days.

The only thing I love about NY is the food, I've traveled around the States a bit and pizza anywhere else sucks. Huge variety of restaurants too.

I had one guy come up to me in the mall parking lot and tell me he was stranded in town and needed money for a hotel room. His family was stuck out of town with car trouble and couldn't get him until the next day. I politely told him I don't carry cash and he left me alone. Two weeks later, I come out of the mall and there he is again needing money for a hotel room. He didn't remember me and came up to me with the same story. I was polite and told him he should probably look into getting another family if this one has left him in town for 2 weeks. After he got the hint that I was onto him, he cussed a few chosen words to me, and walked to a local gas station. God, I hate the mall.

Wow. I guess a lot of people must fall for that if he's been doing it for weeks. Usually guys like that end up needing legitimate help and have no one to turn to. Quick way to lose a reputation.

Jesus was nothing more than a radical hippie back during the rein of Cesar. His cause was noble, but he paid the ultimate price of going against " THE MAN" nuff said!

People want something to believe in. They need hope and reassured that there will be something for them after death. All religion is a form of brainwashing.

What I cannot understand is why the Christians named their god after some Mexican dude named Jesús. Doesn't make any sense to me.
