I've always wondered if you make a hot deposit to a book through an e check or e wallet, does the processing service eat the cost or does the book? I think it must be the book, as the processors have to know the kind of business they are dealing in and have taken precautions. However, I did have Neteller put me into collection (this was back before their principles were sent to the klink), so who knows.
That aside, if you make a bogus deposit to a book, you can't ever play at that book again. Are they going to send you a letter telling you they don't want your business any more? Of course not. They will accept any kind of alternative deposit method you are willing to send. However, when you you want to make a withdrawal, you will be denied. it doesn't matter if you stiffed them for $50 and you have since have deposited thousands. The one stiff will be used as a reason to deny you payment.
Moreover, you have to be careful about any new books you use, too. There are families of books under the same ownership. Play with one of the sister books and think you are okay? BZZZZT. You are screwed.
Also books merge, change names, etc. For example, I stiffed The Big Book over 10 years ago. That book no longer exists, but is somehow associated with Bodog. Therefore, I can't ever play with BODOG.
Keep this in mind when you inevitably have to write that hot check.
