    Blackberry Users
I recently joined modern civilization and upgraded to a smart phone. I went with Verizon and I seriously considered a Droid and still may decide to upgrade again but for the time being I went with the Curve by Blackberry.

I've already had to call tech support because I locked myself out of the phone. I have another question but decided I would ask here instead of making another call to tech support.

I am having a blast downloading Apps. Some are free and others I have paid for. My question is can I over do it with the Apps and slow my phones opperating speed?

Congratulations....download as much as you want....as long as you do not have the programs open simultaneously there should be no problem.

    Did you get extra storage??

By the way...I love this program (allows you to tether to your laptop)

Use your Android phone as Wireless Modem, USB Tether, Bluetooth DUN, Wireless Router

I did get a storage card. I think 4 gig not can't remember.

I got a data plan as well but I make sure to always close a program out before starting opening a new one.

Loaded Score for a constant sports ticker, all the major sports sites.

Looking for the best voice to text App right now. So far looks like the best one is $9 for 100 text messages.

Golf range finder is also on the search list.

Am disappointed in one App though. buddy has the IPhone and has a turn by turn GPS on his and I haven't found that same APP for Blackberry.

The Droid would take care of that (turn by turn directions). You would have to have an internal GPS (or buy an external one). Never used the voice to text application but If I did...I'd look for one where you just pay the one time fee.

I have a Bold, never used the Curve before. I'm happy with it but I use it for text/e-mail mostly.

I will most likely end up getting the Droid X. I have this stigma about smudges so I stayed away from the touch screen stuff but there is no denying the total coolness of the Droid.

My Dad has it...He has had PDA's since they came out (perhap's 15 years) ago. I saw him this weekend and he was like a kid who discovered his father's porn stache with that phone.

Wally congrats on your new phone

it is all a matter of preference

                      Congrats Wal on the Blackberry.

I'm too scared to get one. There are so many buttons I wouldn't know what to do.

I got the curve and last years model. I see the newest ones dropped the rollerball in favor of more of a mousepad.

I love the IPhones I have used of friends but I prefer the Verizon service. If Verizon does aquire the IPhone as reported then it will be a happy day indeed. Course I may find that the Droid is everything and more that the IPhone is and go that route soon. Who knows. So many possibilities today that are outdated tomorrow anyways.

Again it all depends on what you use it for.

The blackberry with the trackball only has 96MB of memory so you can really install too much apps!!!. The new ones like the 9700 has 256MB double the memory size but still not enough. blackberry's are meant for people on the go and need to get to there work email, look at files, etc.... it's a good phone but not meant for what you need..I rather go with the iphone or andriod phone's hope this help's you.

blackberries are almost ancient civilization, aka 2005

But going from dumbphone to any smartphone is a huge difference.

                                    Waiting for the Droid pro....

yes, opera is great! tabbed browsing works real good. and i find it is much quicker than the regular blackberry browser. only thing that sucks is you can't zoom in as much with opera browser as you can with BB browser.
