Just sent off two letters last week hoping to recieve something in return to give to Billsfan(BILLS) and a buddy(EAGLES).

    Recieved packages back this week.

BUFFAL0-----an 8x10 phote, schedules, stickers, and a VERY NICE TICKET HOLDER with 5oth anniversary on it.

PHILLY-----schedules, autographed photo of mascot, 3 keychains, and a nice hand towell with nice insigna on it.

Will present the gifts to both parties today.

Sent a letter to Kevin Millar when he was with the Marlins. Asked him for $250 because he fukked me out of a winning wager. Couldn't score the runner from 3rd with less than 2 outs. Was pissed.

          FH,

          Great stuff!

I don't mean to go OT, but you just reminded me- with Christmas only four months away, maybe this info could help someone who volunteers or helps with community service:

Like you said, contacting the different sports teams are a great and FREE way to get teams' sports items. But, not for just sports fans looking to maybe get some freebies for themselves, but for anyone that volunteers, or runs, or helps out any community group or public service type of organization (little league or any other school teams, girls/boy scouts, handicapped children, etc, etc.), there are a lot of companies willing to help you. Every comapny has a Public Relations Rep, these people ARE YOUR FRIENDS!

I used to volunteer and run the annual Christmas parties for children, I would send letters to just about every company I could think of. I was surprised to learn that a lot of companies actually have Donation/Charity departments. Again, as long as its for a school/league or a nonprofit organization they are usually willing to help, a lot of them will send you something.

I used to just stick to the local area for movie theater tickets, comedy show/monster truck/different special event tickets. But then a PR rep told me to think bigger than that- The Carolina Panthers sent me 2 game tickets, schedules and calendars. Charlotte Motor Speedway sent me all kinds of NASCAR items (pens/cofee mugs/magnets, and most importantly a PR contact to get (2) free NASCAR Pit passes!). I sent letters to the different airlines and received free airline tickets! Sandals Vacation sent me (2) all inclusive free vacations! (which I gave away with the free airline ticket vouchers). Toys-R-Us, Circuit City, etc., etc. You have to ask early though and AUG/SEP is a good time to start, as most companies have a limit on how much they can give away each year.

          Maybe this could help someone!

I always just called and talked to the "Public Relations" Representative and asked if they could send me anything. Sometimes they would need a request in writing but other times they just asked me for my address.

You could just tell them that you are a huge Maple Leafs fan and was wondering if there was any way to get some (free) Maple Leaf memorabilia or items.

                Good post Jersey.

As for topic I never wrote letters but got arrested once waiting at One Buc Place for Steve DeBerg when he threw a pick-6 the other way with 7 seconds left on the clock. Of course I had Bucs +11 and we lost by 13 after the INT. When you're drunk those OL don't look so big....

Depends how pathetic you sound in your letters...if you sound like one of those adult losers who push kids out of the way for autographs to sell you'll probably get the magnetic schedule and media guide because they'll got a million of them. The high quality stuff goes to sick kids, disabled vets, etc.

I'd call PETCO Park and ask to speak to the PR rep. Then just be honest and tell them your very ill son is a huge Padre's fan, and with all the hospital expenses you can't afford to buy any Padres Pennants, Caps, items, yada yada yada.....just kidding!

Just talk to the PR Rep and see if he/she can send you anything. Some have a lot of pull on what they can give.

You want to know who gets the really great FREE stuff, like luxury boxes, hotels, free golf, etc, etc? THE RICH! A lot of stars- singers, bands, etc, get tons of free perks because the hotels/arenas/etc get exposure by the celebrity attending their event or place of business. So giving some of us poor folk lol some of these lesser items is usually a piece of cake.

The Philly towell they sent probably retails for at least 6.99 ..............the bills ticket holder, probably at least 5 bucks.............plus the other goodies.

Well worth the 3 minutes and 92 cents in stamps........Billsfan LOVED her ticket holder by the way.........absolutely loved it.

With all the money you claim to make gambling you would think you could just go online or to a store and get billsfan a jersey or something. Kind of creepy across the board on your part.

I called Colorado U a few years back one night after a game in which they blew a 20+ 4Q lead, left a message for Coach Hawkins (or how ever you spell this bonehead's name)...I'm sure it wasn't the nicest, was pissed off and hammered so those two mostly don't produce the nicest messages.
