#40far better to put them in early and be finished with it than to stew around all day.
you should be happy if he puts the in early and goes on with the rest of his day.Comment -

#42I am not a big sports bettor, the things that make me tick are poker and the occasional blackjack. Due to this I cannot really relate to what motivates the typical sports bettor and I don't really understand their behavior always .. So I thought Id ask for some advice here..
So the problem is, my boyfriend is becoming more and more drawn into the world of sports betting. So much actually that lately I have started to notice a slightly worrying change in his betting patterns.. The betting became a daily thing pretty quickly, but what worries me now is that its happening earlier and earlier in the day..
Today's first bet was before 9am, is this normal? Or should I be worried?
I would be more worried if he was betting throughout the games and upping the bets after losses.
What % of his bankroll is his total $ amount of bets placed each day?Comment -

#43Thank you Curious, I see what you mean.. I guess he does seem to be quite analytical about the whole thing instead of just chasing losses. But I better check the % he is betting of his bank roll.. Not sure about that.. Whats a good %?Comment -

Personally, I never bet more than 1% of bankroll on any given game. And, I try not to have more than 10% of bank at risk at any given time.
For someone who has a decent bankroll, say $5000 or more, that is a good rule of thumb.
Now, if your bankroll is really small, say $500 and you can easily replenish it, then you can up those %s without worrying, because so what if you lose that small of an amount?
But, if your bank is 5,000 and you are betting $2,000 or $3,000 at any one point in time, that is a recipe to lose your bank.Comment -

#50Ah, yes I see what you mean.. Clever, clever..But yeah, I think the percentage we are talking here will need some adjustments downward based on your comments.. Then again, I guess the amounts are not yet endangering my shopping budget
And GrandmasterB.. What planet do you meet your females at?Comment -
