Increasingly I am finding myself reading posts on various forums (including this one) , probably from Europeans, written in very poor pigeon English. Something along the lines of,
Blah blah blah blah, sure you get the idea.
Anyway , I am an impatient man, but I do not speak any other language, so I am not one to critique others for attempting what I am too lazy to bother with, plus there's not much point learning these double dutch languages these days as anyone worth anything generally speaks English.
However, my point of contention about pigeon English on English speaking forums is thus.
I dont try and converse on non English forums in pigeon German, or any other dieing language for that matter , so why do they insist on doing it on English forums? Why don't they go on their language versions of the same topic?
My other point of contention is because they have such poor English , quite often they come across as rude or arrogant.
I realise that you Yanks dont find it easy to speak English correctly and tend to speak the basic dumbed down version of American English , but at least understanding you is no more difficult than understanding a child, and you generally come across as polite which helps. Take JJ for example, nice enough chap if you can keep him off the booze , but hardly a linguistic genius
