    Teasing basketball
Teasing basketball seems to me to be more inexact than say football. Possibly, because teams score so much in basketball and the opposite is true for football. Does anyone tease basketball with great success out there and how?

Totally agree with Louisville. It is a waste of money in basketball.

That's what I was thinking. It would seem that you would need to buy at least 6 or so points, and I have seen people teasing just a couple of points and this small amount doesn't make me any more confident.

Only time i think a teaser should be used is if your at two games with two points spreads at -5.5 to -6.5 ;this way you can tease both games to +/- .5 taking away the point spreads and just need to win the teams to win straight up. . . Your basically gettin an even money ML play, on a touchdown favored team. . . Example Bowl Season . . . LSU -5 and Oklahoma - 6.5 My teaser is LSU +1 and Oklahoma - .5,

It's pretty simple. Find spreads of between +1.5 and +2.5 or between 7.5 and 8.5 so that 6 point teasers cross both the 3 and 7. Crossing the 3 and 7 is +EV, but only in the NFL. Going from -5.5 to +0.5 is one of the worst things you can do.

Hey what's the point of teasing these games when we already know Ok ans LSU will win. I thought the tease lessons the value you can get out of a bet/parlay.

                      **,

It still -110 or less depending on your book. . . this way if they win on a FG late or something i still cover, Bottom line this is why i rarely play teasers, only in situations like these. . . Where all i need is teams to win straight up, and i get to very good teams along with it. . . Also protects you from back door covers late. . .

                      DJ,

I understand where you are coming from playing teaser's the way the book tells you too. However that is used by calculations over the long run playing teaser's constantly; I rarely play teaser's, only in oppurtunites to get two very good teams , in which i just have to win straight up or atleast no more then maybe -2.5,. . .

                        Lvillekid,

If you are consistently making +ev bets, it doesn't matter whether you bet 2 teasers per year or 200.

Really, I'm glad you know that because I'm not so sure. I think both can lose. Never say never. This season altogether is case in point.

Teasing football is totally different. I think it is warranted in football at times.

I thought we were always supposed to be confident in our gambles, seems like you may not be so.

I don't have an opinion on OK-WV yet but I am confident Ohio State covers the number and likely wins outright.
