steelers taught to tackle guys by taking them out at the knee using their body as a missile?

    that's not tackling... it's dirty

NFL has all these rules in place now... the low blocking calls now... should be a penalty for that type of hit

That was a shame, Chubb seems to get injured often.

Ford looked pretty good coming off the bench.

Feel bad for the guy. Same knee he blew out a few years ago. This might be career ending for him. How many times can you rebuild wicked knee injures on the same leg? I'm sure he blew out every knee ligament again on that knee hit.

He was running hard last night and doing a good job. I like how he plays.

    watch napolean mccallum injury 1994.

different type of play as he was hit by tacklers, but if you have not seen it, it is so gruesome.

    Injury[edit]

On September 5, 1994, during a Monday Night Football contest and the Raiders' opening game of the season at the San Francisco 49ers, McCallum's career ended prematurely when 49ers linebacker Ken Norton Jr. twisted him to the ground. As Norton and McCallum went down, McCallum's left cleat stuck in the ground, forcing his knee into a horrible dislocation. Norton lay pinned underneath a motionless McCallum for a couple of minutes while athletic trainers attended to McCallum.[8]
McCallum suffered a complete hyperextension of his left knee, almost to a right angle. He suffered a ruptured artery in his left knee, and tore three ligaments, tore the calf and hamstring from the bone, and suffered nerve damage in the knee. He initially thought he'd only face a lengthy rehab, but McCallum's surgeon told him that there was no chance of him ever being medically cleared to play again. The surgeon said that he normally didn't see leg injuries this severe except in car accidents. Had the subsequent surgery not gone as planned, there was a chance his left leg would have been amputated.[9]

At some point I wouldn't be surprised if needs a knee replacement. His career would be over but he would be able to live a normal life. Artificial knee replacements are really good and advanced these days. Hip replacements as well.

That 'divorce' was a business decision, salary cap and all that other happy bullshit.
    That was an amicable separation.
Point being Hunt from what I'm told is open to come back to Cleveland as a FA, and Cleveland is more than willing to sign him.

The other option Cleveland has is to trade for Cam Akers.
That's a broken marriage in LA, there's a real strong mutual dislike between McVay and Akers.
Akers is a bit of a problem child, has problems with taking direction, refuses to put his body on the line blocking...
Akers was a 'healthy scratch' Sunday which is code for 'benched' the Coach doesn't like you and they think Kyren Williams is the legit real deal.

Fournette is another option, I'm still scratching my head why nobody has picked him up yet.

Fournette probably doesn't want to play a full season like Suh

Maybe he gets picked up closer to playoffs

Ford finished with 106 yards on 16 carries, and had three catches for 25 yards and a touchdown in the air on the night. He'll likely lead the ground game now this season with Chubb sidelined. Ford, 23, is in his second season in the league.

Agree - What ever happened to wrapping a guy up with your arms and bringing them down? To just launch yourself like a missile at somebody's knees, especially while the guy is engaged with another tackler, just doesn't seem right...

That's a PF on the line. Chop block.

Running back down field anything goes especially in a tight push pile. That's just football.

His rebuilt leg from years ago absolutely folded in half again. I think he's done. Although I can't count out modern medicine and he will have the best doctors working on his shit. We'll see?

I just think how many times can you replace and attach those ligaments in the knee and have it work right? The dude is still pretty young still though..

Cleveland just signed Hunt to a 'rest of the season' contract.
'Up to' four million dollars is a sweet deal.

    https://www.nfl.com/news/kareem-hunt...worth-up-to-4m

Stefanski says the backfield will be a committee of Ford and Hunt.

So let me get this straight... when a starter goes down, the number two becomes the number one?

Trade: Rams are sending RB Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings for a swap of 2026 draft picks, per sources.

    Very good ?

Ford looked good on one broken play outlier. Otherwise he looked absolutely awful, averaging 2.5 ypc against a defense that Chubb was gashing for big gains left and right before he got hurt

Yep, night and day difference between Chubb and Ford. I didn't think Ford looked good beyond the fluke run where he changed directions and caught the defense off guard... He didn't even score on the play which speaks to a lack of speed. He doesn't possess any exceptional traits and I noticed his vision is subpar, regularly running into piles. Pretty average back that will be serviceable only because the Browns have very good interior line play.

    Ford ain't no Chubb.. Relax.

Cleveland Browns are experiencing a major downgrade in the running back position no matter how you look at it or who they sign on.

Chubb was a stud! Ran hard, good vision, maybe the best RB in the league.
