I understand that Nadal has mastered the Clay surface. His domination there makes sense:

    1) Is there something about the Australian hard-court that suits Djokovic's game so well?

Good Luck to all. A lot of testosterone in this thread.

Chucky you don't watch much tennis, do you? No worries, so does Goatie.

It's the speed and bounce of the surface that suits Nole's defense first style. US and Aussie open have different materials, some say one is faster than the other but no definitive answer. It also changes every year. Whenever Nadal wins a tournament that isn't clay, you'll know that the surface was on the slower side that year. The conditions are also way more predictable at the Australian Open (weather, bounce) compared to the US Open which is played around September with majority being played late. Since Nole also makes many Finals in many major tournaments he usually isn't as crisp as he is in the beginning of the year. Pretty sure if the US Open was held in January, he'd have more US Open trophies.

Aside from counting trophies, Nole is the most complete player in tennis history.

    No, I don't. Used to...but I was a failed Tennis bettor:

You're hitting on the spirit of my post. Tenth win in Australia - pretty awesome.

I used to look at the Clay Court specialists. Of course, the book adjusts significantly to ramp up price on Clay Court specialists at the French Open. Brad Gilbert used to call it going thru the "Spanish Armada" when 8 of the L16 remaining players were Spanish.

Was just trying to put my finger on Djokovic dominating the Aussie Open to this level. Sure, he's great. But the surface must play to his talents, too.

Goat Milk, my brother, would you please be able to give us some technical analysis of how that match went down? I noticed you haven't replied back to this thread, hopefully your internet isn't down or anything like that. Obviously the umpire just screwed you here because this was 100% the correct call, but I would love you to break this down for us squares who don't understand the game quite like you. Thanks brother, I love you.

So, which is faster, the Australian or US Open? According to the ITF court rating, the current Australian Open hardcourt surface is faster than the current US Open hardcourt surface. The ITF court rating rates the Australian Open court surface as “Medium-fast,” while the US Open court surface is rated as “Medium-slow.”Nov 10, 2022

except when RAFA got to 22 first, the talk was no longer about FED it turned to Joker vs RAFA

almost even in every major category including H2H

    tied at 22 in majors.

Absolutely, brother. Are you still typing up the technical analysis? I don't mean to rush you (I know you can't rush greatness), I'm just impatient, I love reading your work and seeing how your brain operates. Looking forward to more picks as well if you're in the mood for charity. I love you, brother.

They used the $100 you put on Tsitsipas +400 to pay the $100 he won on Djokovic.

I took Eagles to win superbowl +500, so you have the field for -800. 800 to win 100 for you, good luck in the finals.

Homie, thx for the info. Tennis was surely the sport where I was a Failed 'capper at least 5x over.

I can give a few reasons:
    1) I really think part of it is the Individual Player aspect.
...Tennis is a sport w/ a lot of nagging injuries. The type of injury that might not keep you out of a match. But it might inhibit your performance, especially if it's a longer match. And only a few people know your TRUE status. Maybe you and your trainer.
    2) Suitability to the surface (as you mention).
...I remember thinking how I knew something about the Clay Court specialists. Ya, everyone else knew, too. Big name players like Sampras/Agassi were sometimes very small Favs at RG, and it was for a reason.

I tried ATP and WTA. Fair to say that I busted out. Not for me.

Never seen a pro sport like tennis, where “medical breaks” are allowed

Just for perspective, outside America is there any professional sport that allows for tanking and time wasting to avoid playing at the end?

Kneeling is not sporting. Lamest tactic allowed in any pro sport.

Yes I agree with you on the kneeling part. Why are EPL players doing it before the games?

Thank you so much, brother. The biggest sporting event in the world: "The NFL Finals." I cannot wait for this year's NFL Finals, and more importantly, your in-depth breakdown and analysis of the matchup. I love you, my brother.

Goat Milk, my brother, congratulations on an exciting and historic NFL Finals game. We all know you were on the right side here (as always) but of course the refs had to intervene to make sure you didn't completely wipe out the books. All we ask as a forum and a community is that you keep providing us with your winners and in-depth breakdowns of these complex matchups across the sporting world. I love you so much, brother.
