Most fans are upset with the state of the program but UK loses next years recruiting class if he leaves. He probably wins with them at Texas if that's where they decide to follow him to. I actually would rather get rid of Mitch Barnhardt the AD because I don't trust him to make a home run hire and Kentucky will actually wind up worse off if Calipari left as hard as it is for the casual observer to believe that.

Cal has a lifetime contract with the school. He must resign to eliminate him or its gonna cost the state over a billion to buy out a life contract

spoiled fans. kept the team relevant for almost 20 years. the game has changed and teams with upper classmen are outplaying the one and dones with team ball. today's game you have to have a mix of both.

Most college coaches don't know how to use the 1 and done guys. They don't know how to unlock their potential. That's why you see when they get to the nba, they're given more freedom and have to act like an adult, and some of them do pretty solid in their rookie years, and you just think, if this kid played like that in college, his team would be unstoppable. Then there are the guys who dominate in college and come in the nba and they suck their first year. College coaches like Calipari treat their players like children. That's why he can't win. The guy had John Wall Eric Bledsoe and Demarcus Cousins on 1 team and went home in the elite 8. All of those guys dominated their rookie years in the nba.

I agree with this but Cal's class next year is the best class he's had in quite some time as good of a recruiter as he's been. With those kids and some of the kids still on this year's team sticking around he could have a better year next year. Of course if Kentucky forces him out he will take those kids with him to a place like Texas and I'm willing to bet he'll win there. Even worse they'll be in the SEC and he'll stick it to Kentucky and Mitch Barnhart who should be the one to be let go because he won't give Calipari what he wants which is to make sweeping changes to the program.

Did they not give him a lifetime contract or some shit? These mofos in Kentucky are delusional. Good luck with a different coach.

He has the oldest team he has had this year but other teams are simply better than UK this year. While its true he has had number 1 recruiting classes in the past his class next year is the best he's had in quite some time because he had been losing out on the top 5 stars on the recruting trail the last 5 years. He won his championship when he had a mix of elite talent coming in with holdovers from his previous years team. If they get rid of him he'll take those kids with him and he'll win at his next stop while Kentucky will be in a rebuild that will take longer than the fans want. So like I said I'd rather he be given next year to show he can win with elite talent and if he can't then hopefully he retires but if they force him out I think it will be a huge mistake.

    NBA is easier.
No defense. More shots. More freedom.

NBA is a joke right now.

Plenty of guys who dominate in college do nothing in the nba. That guy davion mitchell? Single handedly won a college championship by himself, he can't even get a shot off in the nba by himself. He can't get by anyone. What about all those college studs like Tyler Hansborough etc? Bums in the NBA. JJ Reddick? Great career but in college he was the best player on the court at all times. In NBA, he can't get his own shot, needs screens and can't drive in the lane. I can give you a hundred examples of this. The latest one is that kid from Kansas. Won it all as the best player, now suddenly can't score in the NBA.

Not disagreeing NBA is annoying lately but college is a pitiful level of basketball. Not an opinion. Facts.

Always thought he was overrated as a coach. Can recruit like the best of them but will get outcoached versus guys who can out scheme him with less talent. If I was a Kentucky fan I'm not sure I'd want him to leave unless they can bring in someone talented and I don't know who that would be.
