Jjgold made a thread a couple of years ago documenting how he stole $15k from the attic of his uncle's place. Truly sickening stuff.

Pro athlethes have blown through millions and are broke. 6 figure incomes are a dime a dozen. Depending on where you live, you can be a few paychecks away from being in trouble.

The key element (IMO) is the correlation of (drug use) + (mental illness) = (homelessness)

I hate to see it, but, (IMHO) these 2 elements are treatable.................

I'm around homeless all the time here in Southern California. Homeless get homeless for two reasons, Drug addiction and being lazy. They get mentally ill because they drink and do drugs all day long and eat horribly. Start hearing voices in their heads and start talking to themselves.

I'm so tired of hearing about this mental illness crap. It's excessive life long drug abuse and poor diet brought on by themselves. 99% of them IMO..

Ahhh, I thought you were in the north.

It is (IMO) the drug use that causes the mental illness.

Saw a couple documentaries about the homeless in Sea, Port, and So Cal......

Just one more, sir (Lt.Columbo) a lotta people are fuked up because of a serotonin disbalance in the upper cranium (cortex).....there's meds that can fix that.

The cure for homeless mental illness is to stop doing drugs, sleep normally and eat healthier, that is if they are not to far gone.

I've seen homeless that were mental gone and completely rebound just from doing that. They didn't need mental meds from some doctor either, just as simple as that. A healthy life style and proper sleep cures most mental issues!

Best thing you can do for the homeless is to make it illegal and lock them up. Make em go sober in jail, feed em well and let em sleep normally, then create work programs. I think that is the only solution to combat the growing homeless problem. Build more jails if you have to. Gotta clean up our cities!

Homeless - tent up on the sidewalks, piss and shit where they tent up. Smoke up, shoot up and just make the cities gross and unsafe. Eye sore also!

It's a cancer to society that is growing!

Agreed. It's definitely possible. $100,000 Income...but what did that person's expenses look like?

If one loses a job...and still has most of those expenses, then demise is not too far off. It's plausible and believable.

Arrest people and throw them in jail for not having a home?

Annual cost of prison is probably more than rent for a nice house/apartment.

This makes no sense from any perspective.

Either that or our cities become a shit hole. Look at San Fran, crime is thru the roof, gotta avoid stepping on used needles when walking down the streets. They are tenting up near schools and spooking the children, etc..

Yes lock them up or send them out of the majors cities. Make it law you cannot be homeless in the major cities. You can go homeless outside the cities. Make it law! Gotta do something, that's my solution.

Fine, but don't complain when you pay even more taxes for imprisoning all these people. It costs about $35k/year to imprison a person. $3k/month. You could build free/affordable housing for way way less.

It is paradise here, but there has always been a homeless problem and it's worse than ever. If I was ever homeless, I would be in Santa Barbara too.
