trap games of the day: yanks, mets and angels
yanks and angels got punked in 9th inning. and mets got 8 runs up in their azz in 6th against division rival braves.
yanks looks like they cant scored against bum tampa. you cant make this shiet up.

Like it or not Boone isn't going anywhere.
Hal and Cashman just signed him to a three year deal, Hal (the shot caller) has always loved him.
They're not going to shit can him, maybe after year two of the three year contract they signed him to, but he's safe for this year and next.

Boone has the answers, the problem is the answers aren't producing.
Take away Stanton in that lineup, Judge sees less pitches to smack out.
Even without Stanton that's still an All Universe lineup that stopped hitting, that's not on Boone, I pay attention, Boone's in game managing has not been a problem, he hasn't made very few, if any, bad managerial decisions.

You could have Sparky Anderson running a dugout, but if his dugout quit hitting, and his pitchers are getting smacked, there's nothing a manager can really do.

I don't think anybody on these boards are more heavy into analytics and metrics, and sabermetrics than me, but I'm still part 'old school' too. There are times to let the LH hitting slugger who normally can't hit LH pitching for shit, get up there against the LH reliever because your sluggers has been on a tear lately, and you play that hunch.

Same applies when your lineup has totally quit hitting all of a sudden.
I'll throw out the book of excel spreadsheets, and databases, all the metrics, flush in the toilet and shake things up.
Put nine names in a hat, pull them out, first name out of the hat hits leadoff, etc. etc.

Time for Boone to shake it up, but none of this slump is really on him.

Yanks will snap out of this slump at some point. Knowing when that point happens is the big question? Maybe today at home or maybe next week and next series?

And that's what I always say about trend betting, and I've heard every side of trend betting from good to bad.

The secret to it is easy, spot and get on it right as it's developing, and get off exactly when it's about to end.
It's one thing to say it, it's all together another thing to do it.
It's like a sense, you have to feel it so to speak.

it is on him to shake it up and get results. when your team is not hitting something has to be done. this is where he fails consistently for years. change up swings, play small ball, try something, anything. insanity is doing the same thing everyday and expecting different results. he just always says they are too good and/or will eventually snap out of it. that is not what i want to hear as a fan.

^Trends and match ups matter in MLB but it's all about what have you done for me lately! I hate weighing in on season trends for anything. Last ten or five games works for me and tells the story for any team and where they are at. Who's hot and not!

I hear you, same with horse racings.
The real old timers, the ones with the White Owls dangling from their lips (like Oscar Madison) used to tell me pretty much "it's all about the past three races"

Could the bats finally be back for good? When is Stanton back? That was a big win for them and they needed it like oxygen.

Remember when I mentioned trend betting and sensing when to get on a trend before the public catches on and the books adjust.

    Agreed Stevie.

You ride trends until they pop and then back off when they do pop. That's always my MLB gambling strategy! Won't touch the Yanks for a while. They may heat up now but I won't bet on it. Gotta wait and see?
