    Keep Eye on Wed Night Matchup W Virg Vs Iowa State

    Looking ahead a couple of days, I'll be watching the line that's posted on W Virg @ Iowa State on Wednesday. Depending upon the results between the W. Virg and TCU game tonight, I expect a +3-4 pt spread Wednesday night that will be good to fade.



    • W. Virg is currently on a 1-10 stretch with 3 straight losses ATS (Ok St, K-State, Kansas). Granted the only win was at ISU. They are also 4-7 ATS on the road.
    • The team has been and continues to be on tilt. If you watch them play, they do not have the energy we typically see with a Huggins team. I think they've given up on the season.
    • They play TCU tonight on the road and are dogs at +4. I expect another loss for W Virg. They may/may not cover but I won't be betting on TCU since they played poorly in a loss at Schollmaier Arena against ISU last week and pulled out a lucky cover against Baylor in the closing minutes on Saturday.
    • MOST IMPORTANTLY W. Virg will have played 3 games in 5 days with the last two on the road. Kansas at home, TCU on road tonight and against ISU on the road Wednesday.



    ISU has won two in a row after a 4 game skid. They handled Oklahoma well on Saturday, winning by 20 pts. After a few lineup changes, they seem to be improving and they need this win to to have any hope of getting into the tourny.

    I'll be watching the W Virg/TCU game tonight for any signs of life from the Mountaineers and if they show no improvement, I'll be on ISU -3-4 on Wednesday.

    W Virg showed quite a few signs of frustration tonight, especially in the last 5 min of the game. This allowed TCU to pull away. Even the Technical on Huggins couldn't fire up his team and turn the tide.

    Hopefully, we'll still see a 3-4 pt spread vs ISU on Wednesday night. Might be 4-5 with the 10 pt loss tonight by the Mountaineers.

    W.Virg is 1-6 ATS on the road in Big 12 play (they covered at Baylor Jan 31st).

    I would find it hard to believe W Virg suddenly starts playing better while in the middle of a "3 games in 5 days" span while on the road. They've not played well for some time and they showed a lot of frustration late in the game against a TCU team that was without one of their key players.

    I see quite a few -5 lines. That might as good as it gets.


    I would hate to see Huggins change his approach and decide to start some bench players that somehow have a career day out of nowhere.

    Looks like Huggins is going to shake the lineup up. Very tired legs = lots of missed jump shots and a West Virginia team that doesn’t rebound very well. Cyclones should pounce early and often in this one.
