RX GM Rick taking a pounding over SB.com
Under the thread "Confiscated Money Situation", the GM at RX (Rick) is getting ripped by his forum. Over 250 posts, and virtually none condone the decision to keep the SB banner up there. One long time poster, GoGoBird, leaves in protest:

GoGo says he has been a poster to the RX for years but it is time to move on for now. The RX managements stance on the Sportsbook.com situation really stinks and its time as posters that we voice our displeasure in a way that in the long run hurts the RX the most. Dealing with Fortune 500 customers on a daily basis GoGo knows the importance of integrity and values. Unfortunately the RX appears to not understand this. When a customer in the business world is wronged by their supplier and can no longer trust them, they find someone else that they can. This situation is no different with the RX posters being the customer.

By not dropping Sportsbook.com as an advertiser as other sites have, the RX is blatantly supporting their actions and slapping us in the face. GoGo has enjoyed this site for many years and never thought about leaving. But some things in life are important to take a stand on and this is one of them.

GoGo just signed up across the street to a certain doctors site and will hopefully start posting winners very shortly. GoGo urges other posters to take a similiar stance. Should RX management come to their senses then it is possible GoGo will be back.

    Good luck says GoGo.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am tired of repeating this, RX and all other forums are businesses and for profit only. Do they want anyone stiffed? NO. DO they help with player disputes? YES

RX is a busy site so books want to be here and get exposure, the only people you should listen to about playing at books is fellow posters and there experiences at these books and then you make your own choice based on others posts about the books.

I never ever listen to a forum owner or a moderator about their rating of a book because their salaries are paid by books period. They are not bad people just trying to earn some money like many other people in business.

If you read my post a few times and listen to me there is no need to rip RX or Ricky, know where they are coming from and everything makes sense.

Make your own conclusions baout books period based on your own experience and other posters and friends experiences at the books.

You need to back Rick here? Is there some type of business arrangement you have with him, and is it similar to the one that went bad with the Shrink (he owes you $400?). Does it involve ghost posting for fake endorsements?

            Rick's a gambling man

His gamble is that revenue from ads, will more than offset loss in revenue from angry posters who move on.

Its interesting that SBR takes the opposite gamble. That revenue from overall happy posters will more than make up for lost revenue from not taking jazzette, sportsbook.com, etc. etc. ads.

If I were a betting man I would bet on the SBR business model to be a lot more successful in the long run. Just like a book is going to lose almost all its business if even 1% of its players are stiffed, a web portal is going to take a dive in popularity if even 1% of its posters are seriously pissed off. And in this case the percentage seems to be in the double digits.

I do not understand RX management's decision at all. It should be an absolute no brainer to take jazzette books down, and force them to reverse their decision.

What Rick forgot to figure into his gamble is that by taking down sportsbook.com, and their sister sites he may actually help convince the thieves to give back the money and then he can leave them on his site anyhow. It is absolutely wrong for anyone with power in this industry to not be doing everything they can, including dropping advertising, to stand up to these crooks.

SB.com does not care, they get new sign ups everyday because of url and not forum guys.

Ricky is a good guy, I met him in Vegas about 6 months ago and we rolled some dice and went down the street looking for hookers. He is nuts like me.

If SB doesn't care, then why are they paying to have their banner hang at so many forums? Surely, they expect to attract new business--else why pay out the ad $$$. The Forum Owner is now caught between his bottom line and his duty to his Forum posters/readers. JJ, I don't care how good a guy Rick is at the Bars and Whorehouses, this is a classic case of CONFLICT OF INTEREST.

On wall street senseless greed is good. Rick is learning this is not wall street. I see hope over there. They have rolled back their crazy gestapo censoring policy and stopped banning people by the truck load. The rampant arrogance has been fed a slice of humble pie. They will be fine.
