    Grew up ND fan. Mom went there and Catholic background. But went to school at Naval Academy and serve. So when it comes to Nd-Navy, always root for Navy. But ND still my childhood team. Gators too since my wife went there. I just get upset when people diss them bc of bias against the school. They made a lot of strides the last 10 years from when they were a sorry ass team.

    ND will never compete in these games with qb’s like Book and an offense like Brian Kellys. Its a run based offense but in these games you cannot bludgeon teams with inferior talent. You need a spread offense and superman talent at qb to beat bama and clemson. ND has neither

    I think the offense is fine. They don’t have the playmakers, though, to make that offense dynamic and Book is just okay, not great. Their WRs wouldn’t make Bama’s scout team. They miss Claypool this year a lot. He was scary good there last year. They have the line, the RBs and TEs. Those are top notch. It’s the other skill positions where they’re lacking.

    If Notre Dame played SEC schedule they would have lost to Bama, Florida, Texas A&M and Georgia. When you don't play these teams and play Duke, Syracuse and Georgia Tech you get no conference losses.

    The system doesnt emphasize the skill players. Thats my point. And you will never be big and strong enough to just run the ball down the throat of clemson and bama.     Agree. They were running well early. Problem is they took zero chances down field and tried to play too much within a 10-yard zone. Bama just makes adjustments and crams the box. If Nd could have spread the field more, Williams could have had a field day running it. But they were way too vanilla today.
