It will be interesting to see them in the next round against the Rays. I think the Yankees look like the team to beat right now but the Rays have their number and in a short series all it takes is some quality pitching to shut a team down and some timely hitting so we'll see if the Rays can be the Yankees kryptonite or whether the Yanks offense is still firing on all cylinders.

That's the thing though the Yankees are not the same team they were for most of the Regular season because now they're fully healthy. The only reason the Yankees are the 5 seed is because they had a litany of injuries that derailed their team. I have to give a slight edge to the Yankees in this series although I think the price will be reasonable in most of the games because the Rays are a legit team with a good pitching staff and hitters that execute fundamentally.

the bullpen is weak for my yankees beside chapman and britton. like michael kay said, without cole pitching 7 innings (hopefully) the rest of the games can be difficult if a starter goes out early.

that said, this was a total surprise and now i feel like we are playing with house money since expectations had changed

Rays-Yankees....you couldn’t ask for a better series. Pitching vs hitting. Two best teams in baseball, IMO.

As an Indians fan, I knew we were fukked as soon as we drew the Yankees. For some reason the Indians cannot beat the Yankees, I’m talking the last 2 decades. It’s uncanny, almost cursed.

The Yankees and Rays have their well-documented issues with one another. As part of MLB’s bubble setup, they’re sharing the same hotel in San Diego. And, just in case that wasn’t awkward enough, there’s a covered outdoor amenities area that is shared.
