Per Capita both California and New York have a rough vote weight of less than 1, while Wyoming is 2.97
So those states votes are not worth more

Only a handful of states where your vote matters. It's crazy. If it were just popular vote, everyone's vote would matter exactly the same no matter where you are. Candidate couldn't just pander to specific demographic of swing voters in a handful of states.
Exactly! Election comes down to 4 states - Michigan, Pa, Fla, and Wis -- Those are the only states a poll matters. Rest of the US meaningless as far as nationwide polling goes... Sorry CNN!

Could you imagine a US where election results just come down to two coastal cities, because of the concentration of people?
They could vote themselves all the resources and screw the rest of the nation as pushes to change congressional influence would likely ensue. Even those changes didn't happen, we know where the pork would go with the justification of higher population centers.
To think there are people that would abolish the current system with no United States replacement.
They are likely just blind to the American doctrine of fariness because all they want to do is win an election.
Like I said before, it's amazing the length both sides go to not only keep power, but to try to keep the other side from getting power.
Including radical changes to the Law of the Land.
Makes no sense. As it is now, election results comes down to handful of states, so they can cater to those states and ignore the decided ones. If it's simply one person one vote then everyone counts equally no matter where you are. Can't cater to any one place.
I’ve tried to explain this exact thing. Some guys are just never gonna get it. The electoral college is terrible. Trump was finally right when he said that.
I agree that supervotes shouldn't occur nor should they, since they do occur, be able to counter the distirict that made a decision, that's downright election fraud in the truest since. But with the current system it's handful of states, that has changed through elections...and has it's battlegrounds. Without some kind of system, it becomes a handful of cities.
Cities already have too much power. The can willy nilly violate federal laws.
We have evolved to what we have evolved to, there's no changing that, but to decry the power of a handful of states at the cost of making it a couple of cities makes on thing very clear...
It's more about winning elections and taking away or gaining power than it is the spirit of how the founding fathers set up the democratic republic.
That's most certainly not good going forward for Uniting any States under one federal gov't.
States are states for a reason and the college is set up with the spirit of that in mind.
It seems like not just international borders are in jeopardy, but State borders as well. Putting a general vote out there without weghting state borders, some sort of divisions, ignores those very borders. What's next?
You guys want to increase the Senate for more populated states and lessen those for the rural areas in mid America?
The House of Representavies already makes those adjustments, for a reason. Don't forget the 3 branches and the rest of the Constitutional set up. You guys want to be smarter than the Founding Father's? You want to say they couldn't see this coming?

And here's that map that scares the election campaign heads for a certain side, leading them to knee jerk reactions to a document that is not yet outdated, wanting to change a system simply to win an election they don't deserve under the United States Constitution...
Maybe the Executive Order should be constrained, not the election parts of the constitution.
That could probably do everyone some good. As it stands, not much of the Constitution is followed by either side these days, let's be thankful the election is at least sort of followed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of the Republican power grabs that help lead to the red map, but both sides engage in that behavior.
Making the utlimate power grab though, becuase the current season fits, would be a terrible precedent as those rules would then forever be in flux.
