Because they are idiots. They only approve tax cuts for the 1%. If they don't approve most of them will be voted out in November. The voters are sick and tired of their shenanigans.

Basically, they got to hammer out the details where both houses agree, and Trump can sign off.

But, it looks like another 1200, not 2k, if they get around to it.

The funny thing is no one of this wahoos that complain about the money given out will return it to the government out of principle. A lot of the PPP went to millionaires and people who don't need to work another day in their life. But they don't complain about this taxpayer waste. The problem is the guy who works 3 jobs to feed his family and raise his kids. He doesn't deserve a check from the governement.

    FACT CHECK:

The stimulus checks bill had to be approved by Mitch McConnell,

then it had to be approved by the REPUBLICAN Senate,

then Trump had to approve and sign it into law.

    Thus, using typical REPUBLICAN logic,

it is clearly *ALL* the Democrats fault

    ...especially Hunter Biden.

    You phucked that up again.

    Dems tried to pork it
Republicans don't want to pay for all the extra pork

Republicans will pay the checks, after they hammer these details out.

    Nevertheless,
the context of my post was regarding the PREVIOUS stimulus,

as shown clearly in copy below - using "past tense" wordage

You may not like the fact that Republicans were heavily involved
in passing the previous stimulus check bill, but going forward,
it matters not how much "pork" the Dems propose to spend,
*ANY* stimulus spending that it is eventually signed into LAW
must necessarily have Republican fingerprints all over it.
    BOTTOM-effing-LINE.

Because they still are paying for it.

On the flip side, none of the wahoos who don't like the current US health care system will refuse to use it out of principle. See how easy that is?

Why would people need more assistance? Most that lost their jobs are making more 9n unemployment.

If it's really a stimulus wait until the economy is open so people can spend it on something not from Amazon.com

Kroger employees just lost their $2 increase in hourly pay ("hero pay"). On the flipside, I was told the CEO received a 20% increase in compensation (did not question or do any research of my own).

I'm going back to work next week. I'm thinking I'll get like 15-20 hrs for a while. Before the shutdown, I was working 60-70/week.

So is this still a $3 trillion bill? Wasn't the criticism on the 1st one that for the most part, individuals were only given $1200, and businesses were getting bailed out? Where is the House looking to send this extra $$ after individuals get their $1200?

Companies will call their employees back to work even if it means they are going to work one shift per week. If they refuse, they don't get the unemployment. So we will have lots of people who are underemployed. Supposedly, they can still collect the difference for lost wages but eventually it's all going to come crashing down. Kids can't go to school so someone has to stay home with them for school. Unemployment going to be 25%+ and companies will realize they don't need as many employees or don't need certain warehouses or office spaces.

While I don't need the extra stimulus, people are going to need cash. Whether it's to eat, or to pay their rent or mortgage

It's hard telling, man. I wish they would just play it straight and put $1,200 per, like last time, then call it a day. If they do it at all. Could someone more intelligent or thoughtful than myself give some insight as to WHY other things need to be added.

My wife continues to work and I have a 6 month emergency fund, so when I only work 1 or 2 shifts per week, I'll be okay. Won't turn down another $1,200 for sure. A lot of folks will need it though.

I will be working full-time. 2nd shift at my facility does not have to come back. They'll be making more than I am sitting at home. Now I'm pissed, lol.
