here you go scumbag
I’m responding to Bea Mackey’s April 6 letter, “
Democrats padded stimulus bill with their pet projects.”
Instead of parroting propaganda from unfair and imbalanced “news” programs, maybe she can research talking points that aren’t rooted in fact.
The Kennedy Center relief package was a bipartisan agreement, not a Democratic Party pet project. Mackey is concerned about helping sick Americans while Trump is in court trying to take away their healthcare. She’s concerned about job losses; Democrats fought for and got an extra $600 per week in employment benefits. She’s concerned with Americans losing their homes; Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy signed a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures.
What about the $500 billion corporate slush fund, now that
Trump has removed Glenn Fine from the fund’s watchdog role?
And maybe, just maybe, if Trump showed any concern for this pandemic in the 70 days leading up to it, instead of golfing and holding his propaganda rallies, the U.S. would look more like South Korea in mitigation with a far less damaged economy.
One last point on the Kennedy Center: “The life of the arts, far from being an interruption, a distraction, in the life of the nation, is close to the center of a nation’s purpose — and is a test to the quality of a nation’s civilization.” ― John F. Kennedy
