The leveling off of positive tests is due to the lack of sufficient testing. That's it. I agree that the social distancing is working, but it's not going to work in a hurry.
The only way we get back to work is with widespread testing -- both for covid and for antibodies. This is what the politicians need to be hammering home and making happen. Imagine if we had all these home tests dropped on every doorstep tonight. We'd know exactly who's immune and who's infected. We'd have this sucker under control for good in 2 weeks.

Go away? Not for a long time. Hope... sure... but if I had to predict... I think it's going to be a roller coaster ride for at least another year or so. Hopefully it won't be that bad in some places. I consider myself extremely lucky to be in one of those places right now. But I think for some places it's going to be really bad for a long time.
If NFL starts on time this year I would be pretty surprised... it wouldn't surprise me at all if they cancelled the entire season in fact. We'll see. I think by the end of April and almost certainly by the end of May we will know A LOT more than we do now. Hopefully what we'll learn will be good news. I am hoping most of my predictions about this are wrong... but I wouldn't bet against them.
