    Vegas observations from a local

    What’s it like there now?
It's not good, people are turning mean, everyone has masks but not everyone smart enough to practice Social Distancing or understand the concept of a Pandemic. There will probably be bad numbers from here in 4-8 weeks? I went out for first time in 6 Days—Governor ordered Stay a Home Monday I think—to Grocery Store and it's is somewhat pre-Apocalyptic. People are not organized and freaking and no Paper Towels, Toilet Paper and Hand Soap, but Food is there. Semi-Panic mode on April 2. Many dumb penetrates lingering in Aisles acting like it's a Holiday though. I have never been there, but it seems we are devolving to Oakland. Stay at Home but way, way, way too many cars. I'd stash Food wherever you may be as this will be here awhile and they may shut down things you wouldn't think. There were 2 guards at store front..

Is the city in shut down mode?
Yes. But Idiots still trying to get away with working under table. Called Apt Manager about Mexicans with Chemicals in Truck bed, uncovered. Asked him to smell, he came and they quickly wrapped it up, and went upstream. Dystopian Hell where one has to babysit adults. Zzzyx Road smart to leave here. I can't see living here 1 year from now. I feel Las Vegas and USA will probably never be the same. Too many idiots and dodging Life, Disability and a pandemic very hard when Idiots in the mix. We aren't even close o getting hit by the wave, but I am sure many have it as so few have been tested and fewer seem to care. It's the weirdest LV has ever been, but too many acting like it's nothing. Marijuana only available through Delivery and some Bars have Pick-Up (Drive) Drinks I heard on news. City revealing it's true color: Grey.

    Anyone seen Fishhead around?
I saw him post on SBR Forum when shit started hitting fan maybe a month ago Said he might head upstate or something.

    What are the restrictions ?
People are supposed to stay at home, only go to Grocery store and take short walks. We will all be nuts in 2 weeks. All non-essential business are closed until April 30, but Death hasn't really hit hard here yet but with all of these people out and about, I do not feel good about Las Vegas's prospects thru his, despite great Driving Distance rating (A) and Low Fever color code on the map.
The amount of dumb people combined with ignorance of what this is and the reality many are young and new residents doesn't bode well. April and May could bee the 2 most important months for the future welfare of Sin City. This curve doesn't seem to be flattening and I fear many think this is just something happening somewhere else. I wore a mask (Survivor buff) around mouth for the first time. The casinos are ghost towns and making the Slots payout better won't help as it's hard to see people from 40-90 not changing behaviors because of Fear, like touching machines, being around people, Travel and Planes. 9/11 put a big dent in Las Vegas but we recovered. This feels very bad and may change the city forever, despite any positivity, campaigns or fake smiles. Las Vegas sucked before, and now it's a little like Purgatory with Pepsi. Hard to see things opening up on May 1 with everyone being s dumb. I didn't see this when indoors the L5 days. The whole country seems pretty sad. Whoever started the Toilet Paper thread may have been on to something.

Spent 25 minutes in the grocery store yesterday, not many people in there at all. Other than the cashier, never spent more than one second within six feet of anyone. No problem buying over a weeks worth of food. Plenty of toilet paper, but every customer limited in how much they can buy (the free-market solves everything). Drive around every day and don't really see any groups of people. When I walk to the parks I always see a group of kids playing soccer, so there is that.

I agree it will be rough in the coming months, but I will can't see it being worse than any other metro area with three million people. Probably a lot better. Unlike the south where everyone still wants to go to church (https://www.cnbc.com/2020/04/02/coro...pulations.html) people in Las Vegas generally aren't that social and generally want a lot more distance. And it's easy to get distance, the valley is larger than all five boroughs of New York, with one-quarter the population. And if the heat really does kill this virus, Las Vegas will be the first one to benefit. Over 80F already on April 1 and average high in May is 104.

How about economic impact? City will be hit hard.

If there was any winners out of all this bullshit it was Broke Landers family. They don't have to worry about him stealing from them because there is nothing to gamble on.

Congrats, you finally realized what the rest of the country went through weeks ago. Stop your fear mongering. People have stopped the panicking buy for the most part. Stores here in CA are fairly well stocked except for paper products, but you can wipe your ass with all those loser tickets you have. The restrictions aren't that restrictive. I work in construction and I go into the office every day. Construction continues. Only industries really shut down are the ones people waste their money on like casinos and pampering themselves. Sorry you won't be able to get your nails done for a while. Vegas should get flushed down the toilet like the neon colored turd it is.

As much as I hate California Governor Gavin Newsome, I have to give credit where credit is due. He basically shut down the State and it is apparently working. California had an 8% infection rate last week and it remained at 8% this week. An indication that staying at home and not acting like an idiot actually works. One more week of this and the curve will be flattened out. I realize that many people do not have the ability to figure this out, but if you just use a little common sense, things could go much easier for you. The morons out here who were hoarding paper products are now stuck with them and cannot return them. One fool tried to sell them and gave his home address. His house was torched. A few have been shot dead. Many have been caught. Just stay at home people and you can get through this. Do not think you can outsmart this because you cannot. Also do not pay attention to JJ Gold. The rantings of a madman.

"I have never been there, but it seems we are devolving to Oakland." Why not Brock? Vegas has the "Oakland" Raiders football team. Why not take the people from the rest of the City that was once described as the "Armpit of California"?

Whomever the local that wrote this, is full of shit. A Kirkland brand Hunter Thompson kind of writing. Not seeing many people out and about now but I only live here, so not sure what I know.

JJ always bashing Vegas ever since opie tackled his ass in hotel hallway. Do Vegas a favor and never come back jj. City has plenty of broke, bald, meth teethed losers in life already.

Actually really excited. Great weather, great outdoors, location for travel. Incredible buys after 9 11.

Looking for investment properties or getting myself a pimp pad.

    Not leaving NJ totally though.
