There is a good possibility that either American Airlines or United Airlines stock

Will be bankrupt and the stock goes to 0. It’s hard to believe but it is a reality. American Airlines looks almost too good to pass up but it could go to zero as well.

My bet would be on American Airlines to stay afloat. The same thing happened to them after 9/11 since the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center were both AA. The government will keep them afloat. Buy buy buy

An unidentified NFL player filed a lawsuit against United Airlines, saying another passenger sexually assaulted and harassed him during a February flight.

According to the complaint obtained by USA TODAY Sports, the unnamed player boarded a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Newark, New Jersey, late Feb. 10. A female passenger, described in the lawsuit as a "middle-aged, Caucasian female," was seated next to him and began questioning why the player was wearing a facemask (which, per to the complaint, was to be proactive about the spread of COVID-19).

Eventually, the woman allegedly began engaging in "verbal and/or physical conduct of a sexual nature" toward the NFL player, identified as "John Doe 1" from Essex County, New Jersey. Another plaintiff in the lawsuit is listed as "John Doe 2," who does not play in the league and resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both are identified in the lawsuit as black males.

The civil suit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday and seeking both punitive and statutory damages, alleges the flight attendants aboard the United flight did not act appropriately to deal with the woman's alleged behavior.

At one point, the lawsuit claims, the defendant allegedly grabbed the player's penis and ripped off his facemask. When he got up from his seat to notify a flight attendant, the woman allegedly moved to the middle seat of the aisle and began groping John Doe 2.

Per the complaint, the woman "admitted she was drinking and had taken pills" and was moved to another row when flight attendants arrived to the row.

“The safety and well-being of our customers is always our top priority,” a United spokeswoman said in an email to the New York Times on Wednesday.

In addition to suing for sexual assault and sexual battery, damages are being sought for battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, negligence and negligent hiring, training, supervision and retention.

I bought American when they were at 10 dollars before the aid package expecting a big increase after that got approved thinking the same thing about the government not letting them fail. They went up to 2.50ish and then went stagnant. I sold it at 12 and gave up on them. They are buried in debt and they haven’t run their company well at all. One of these airlines the government might actually let fail and let the others scoop up and based on their financials they seem like the one.
Out of all the airlines the only stock I would touch is southwest now. They set themselves up very well with much less debt than their competitors and a decent amount of cash flow.

One of the big 3 (United, Delta, American) may well go belly up. American most likely. But the other 2 will benefit and probably pick up some of the routes. Since they were all recently trading way under 1/2 their Feb 20 value, I think long term buying all 3 will be profitable.

If that was reversed the player would have been dragged off the plane and immediately arrested.

They won’t let American fold. American is the largest carrier in the world not just the USA.

    Why?

They have hundreds, if not thousands of planes to use as collateral.

    Government is not needed

How many of those planes are leased rather than owned though?
