I have seen it before companies that failed to change with the times do not last. It is a change in game and we must adapt to keep as us alive. Its just like FUBU. What are some strategies we can implement to keep it modern? I noticed a lot of the young posters do not post anymore like that asian kid from Cleveland

This is a catch-22, but advertising in the states and especially those who have legalized sports betting.

Back when TheRx strived, they would advertise in the newspapers of larger U.S. cities and am sports radio.

I even had a popular sports radio host in Tampa FL posting on the site (Steve Duemig) and doing on-air interviews with Ken Weitzner, plugging the site live.

This of course, was before the microscope was put on offshore gambling and I don't know all of the legal conflictive aspects of it all and if such can still be done, and I'm sure the leaders of the company know.

    Yeah Deemer

Kid was full of energy but the old people ran him out

He was supposed to be the face of sbr

Several things. Let me get this started. This topic seems to be a theme around here today.

    1. Fix new SBRodds data. This is brought up on a weekly basis on how certain sports are missing historical data. A host of other issues too:
    o. Bad Design. If you're going to call it "New" sbr odds, make the interface look like my cat didn't throw up all over it.
    o. Data itself is inherently flawed, it's incomplete, and inaccurate
    o. Nobody asked for this and SBR still provided resources not only to build it but to replace the old odds with it.
    o. The format of the data on new has already changed a multitude of times. First JS, then json, then js again.
    o. Make up your mind on how you'll be feeding odds and stick to it

    2. Can we update the forums so it doesn't look like 1996 around here? Some features of note:
    o. Make it so we don't have to login, again, when clicking "SBR BOOK" on the right hand side
    o. Even basic reddit has the ability to "@" another user, or even an entire sub.
    o. Clean up the entire interface. It's far too busy. Clone reddit's php. It's not rocket science.
    o. Cleaner contest pages. The pages take FOREVER to load and are clunky, cluttered, and dated.
    o. More on contests, it should be MUCH simpler to put these together.
    o. SBRBook as well is ugly as all hell. The interface shouldn't be such a burden.
    o. New SBRodds objection listed under #1.

    3. SBR needs a chat.
    o. Information moves incredibly fast these days
    o. Live, In-game betting is EVERYWHERE. H3ll even the brick n' mortars in Iowa have live in-game betting
    o. The ability for your users to discuss this in real time is imperative.

    4. SBR Pro Status, This is the lone redeeming thing that the mods got right, yet it could be improved
    o. 10 years ago, 100 bucks still wasn't much money, but you could cash out a couple hundred bucks from just being pro
    o. This amount of money, given inflation, is no longer adequate. You're losing bigger fish because posting on SBR for an extra couple hundred bucks a year isn't worth the time
    o. There should be an additional pro level, platinum maybe? Something where the buy in is greater and grants access to exclusive things, like higher payout contests.

    5. The contests, specifically the BTP/PICK6/whatever should be Pro only
    o. It's been claimed this is to improve foot traffic
    o. It's 5x (minimum) more profitable to keep existing clients than acquire new ones.

    6. Direct access to data
    o. The second redeeming quality of sbr is they have a historical odds database and get new feeds "allegedly" directly from books.
    o. Make this data available for your pro or platinum payers.
    o. This would be a MASSIVE leg up for your site and would bring in new users
    o. EVERYBODY is modeling data for sports. Make it easier on your users by offering a feed of odds data

    7. MODS/ADMINS: If a users pm's you or asks a question in your thread in PT, for fukks sake respond. At least the user know you've seen the message.

This post will likely get me banned here. It should be noted I'm not picking on the IT staff of sbr or the admins or site mods. I've mentioned numerous times that I'd be willing to assist in the above items FOR FREE to SBR.

If SBR doesn't address some of these issues the userbase will continue to decline. Adapt or die rudy

is that what Happened EOG? In your opinion? SBR seems to be the major betting forum with unique features. Think SBR will continue to thrive. Some of your ideas are interesting. GL

I don't know the details of EOG or what happened to them.

The two unique things sbr has are it's odds and the Pro content. These need to be leveraged further.

I don't know if SBR is a "major betting forum", but at some point the current users are going to get fed up and realize there's a whole world out there.....

Regardless, this thread will become irrelevant, as the mods will ignore it. Even if seen they won't act on any of it.

Nice idea Seaweed, but nothing will come from it.

many gambling portals catering now to USA Sportsbooks
    Covers, Vegas Insider, Statfox, ect

The more and more states approve the less new players offshore will get

The new gen all playing with usa books if allowed in their states

    Interesting move
