Jerry meeting with Garrett again tomorrow...

Who meets twice with a coach if you're going to let him walk? Contract extension or a promotion to management position imminent?

This is absolutely bizzare but also- who he going to get to replace him?

Win now mode or blow it up???

Maybe reassessing Dak... never been a fan of the Dak n Dunk, maybe Garrett opinion is valued by Jerry here....bring in Rivers?

I'd take Rivers over Dak for a year or two.. Sit Dak and make him a back up where he belongs..

Rivers would probably light it up with that Cowboys running game and receiving core.

Fire the defensive Coordinator and half the players on Defense. Cowboys defense was the main problem this year. They were horrible towards the end of the season.

If Jerry Jones is anything he is a man with high class. He does things differently than the other owners. Not surprising that Jerry didn't just spitefully fire Jason and embarrass him.

If Jones is going to let Garret go then do it. He would not be embarrassing him imo. It's a business and Garrett has not gotten the job done. In addition, maybe Garrett can find another job. Can't see how Jones does not eventually fire him. Cut to the chase.

Garrett was informed he will be let go a long time ago. He is letting him complete his duties as the head coach with exit interviews and shit before they make it all public. Not your typical fire.

He isn't good anymore agreed but let's not kid ourselves. Dak isn't the answer. Dalton would be a decent pickup

True, so is Tom Brady though..

Need to gear the OL to block better and accordingly to an immobile QB when passing.. Dallas OL has the ability to change and do that if coached right.

Dak always runs prematurely out of the pocket rather then stepping up too..

Yeah good point about Brady as well. But let's face reality age is catching up to these QB's. Immobile QB's are becoming a rarity in NFL.

    Garrett will not be “fired”

    His contract ends next Tuesday.

Seems like they want to keep him around in another capacity and are exploring their options which could end up screwing garrett

Dak ain't that mobile. He can run a bit but he isn't no Michael Vick or Lamar Jackson. Dak is garbage and I've always said that.. He's got a great running game with Zeek and receiving core that is solid.. He faded in the second half of the season big time..

Like I said he runs out the pocket prematurely all the time rather then stepping up and trusting his OL to protect. He's just not that accurate either. He misses throws alot.. Over paid and spoiled now with his new contract.

Not saying Dak is a great QB. But between ole Phillip Rivers and a younger Dak I will take Dak. Let's agree to disagree here. IMO Rivers a back up in league now jury still out on Dak. Maybe he will prove to be a decent back up. who knows?

Point is...do you want to be paying Dak $40mm / year 2021-2025 when your team is mediocre and Dak is bottom 1/3 in talent

    OR

Do you pay Rivers $15mm/ yr 2 years and sign a skill position star and try to win 20/21 while rebuilding later

Dak is basically Kaepernick skill level. Not good enough

Neither. option is a good one imo. Rivers has won nothing in this league. He is now a has been. And Dak not worth 40M a year. LOL. He has won nothing either. Bad choice.

Exactly, I'd bet Phillip Rivers does just a good job as Dak or better over the next 2 years even though he's old as hell. He's a more accurate passer then Dak and sees defenses and field of play better.. He's a true proven veteran of the QB position.

Vets like Rivers seen it all.. He'd be rejuvenated coming to the Cowboys as well.. I think he'd produce and surprise people. Rivers is a slinger and would utilize the Cowboys star receiving core to their maximum talents.. I don't think Dak will ever do that.
