According to Elias Sports Bureau, his 22 points are the most by a player in his NBA debut while playing fewer than 20 minutes in the shot-clock era (since 1954-55). Also, he became the first player in NBA history to go 4-for-4 (or better) from 3-point range in his NBA debut.

It might just be me, but the game sound seems to be putting out artificial sneaker sounds. I might be wrong, it just sounds like it.
I don't know the whole story, but it's all in the production with some variables that they can not control, like the other arena noise.

They are mics on the floor level to pick up the squeaks at some brodacasts so they can turn that specific sound up or down.

Instead of piping it in, teams like the Knicks tried to reduce the arena music and other noise to let the crowd and TV audience hear the "sounds of the game."

That didn't go over too well...lol.

Shoe companies that test shoes without squeaking get negative feedback from players, they want to hear the squeak to feel assured that they are getting a good grip on the floor...even if there is no difference.

Yeah, Zion went nuts for a stretch. He's probably going to have some big games in the future. The only thing holding him back some games could be the play calling and coaching...lol.

I know a guy that refuses to watch basketball just because of the squeaking..

He shot 68% from the field in college and went 12 for 13 last night, yet according to you, he "can't shoot." I can only hope the mods don't give me a one-week suspension when I bump this in a few months after he is shooting 54% from the field and averaging 21/9/3/2/1 as a 19-year-old. You don't need to always be a contrarian.
Zion currently shooting 57.6%, averaging 22.1/7.5/2.2/0.7/0.4

Yes, where are all the doubters now? Guy looks like a stud, and if he stays healthy he'll be in the league MVP conversation in a few years.

yes, unstoppable... except when you take the ball from him easily and reject him pretty easily too. vs real defense he sucks. vs any lax in defense you are dunked or layupd on.

I think Shawn Kemp/Blake is a good comparison game wise but if stays healthy he'll obviously be much better than both. Think Shawn Kemp would have been a stud if not for his alcohol/drug abuse.

Clueless. Zion is 270 pounds. He's easily one of the top 3 or 4 heaviest players in the NBA. Reject him easily? He has the highest vertical in the NBA. Zach Randolph had no hops and was able to put up 20 and 10 for many years. Blake Griffin had no jumper for years and was able to get 20 and 10 for many years, if not more points. Zion is way too strong for any PF in the NBA to contain.

Can he have bad games around the rim? Sure, eventually teams will figure him out and will swarm the paint and force him to do other things. That's what you go through as an NBA star when you're 19 years old. He'll fail, get back up, succeed at something else. He will continue to improve.

Even if he has a couple injury plagued seasons, which are highly likely, he'll still have an amazing career.

Lebron was going to make his presence felt because greatness recognizes greatness. put it in the record books. we'll remember that game for a very long time.
