Another Example You Do Not Need High Paid MLB Hitters..Yanks Better Without Stars

    Judge and Stanton

Strikeout machines that do not put the ball in play enough

I get it they bring in fans so they will always get paid well

Many Triple A hitters just as good as the so called best players on MLB rosters, they would have same or better production...lol cannot get worse with guys making 15 million batting 225 every year

Dude this JJ actually gets it

I couldnt agree more Stanton and Judge are both impossible to win with

yeah they absolutely crush mediocre pitching

problem is they hardly ever see mediocre pitching except one time through the order

these teams that can’t afford quality pitchers like the Orioles and Rays are not letting hitters see a pitcher twice through the line-up in many cases and keep switching to new bullpen arms

before you know they are still hanging around late in the ball game with a chance to win

Judge and Stanton are choke artist and strikeout machines come playoff time if they even make it to the playofds

Saying you can't win with Judge could be the dumbest thing you've ever said

In one of my advanced finance classes in college, we had to model out the return of paying 100M for acquisition of a premier league soccer star. We were given the estimated growth in win rate, estimated growth in attendance, the initial cost with debt leveraging capabilities and the option to finance with equity as well. We had to show if it was a good return that met the team's IRR requirement and display the cash flow analysis and Term values associated. It was a very intriguing and fun project to work on.

    OP, i largely agree....

what happened to players who hit for decent average, get some walks and can steal bases..... they must still exist in college and/or caribbean.... i will note that contrary to moneyball that non-elite hitters don't seem to get alot of walks. seems pitchers throw strikes to them.

i am reading a baseball analytics book that says that runners on base doesn't improve batter's performance but i just can't see how that can be.

i realize ricky henderson was greatest base stealer and probably one of the absolutely greatest players in history. but having seen him alot live in his prime it is hard to explain how much havoc he created on the base paths.

i am reading a book on billy martin. his focus was compleltely on creating runs... i think earl weaver was a home run guy.

    a bit disjointed.

i will say that this is tiny sample size as per the yanks playing better without staunton and especially judge.... andujar is good and doesn't fit into their category either. but i think he is terrible fielder

I know you didn’t just say Tampa has mediocre pitching? That couldn’t be further from the truth, biggest reason they continue to compete w low payroll is cause they draft/develop good pitchers. Their starters have the best ops against by a mile thus far this season!!

How the fukk anyone could put rays pitching in same sentence as O’s and pretend to have a clue is beyond me??
