Title value bets for Power 5 conference tourneys 🏀

Title value bets for Power 5 conference tourneys

    ESPN PLUS ($ MATERIAL)

Conference tournaments are often a precursor to March Madness success or failure for college basketball teams. A deep run in a conference tournament doesn't guarantee anything in the Big Dance, but it's a good way to gauge your favorite players and teams. Some are on tournament life support, while others seek the best seed possible.
Here are my best title value bets for each of the Power 5 conference tourneys.
Odds courtesy of the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. As always, shop around for the best price.

    Pac-12: Washington Huskies (+250)

The Huskies dominated the conference slate in large part because of National Defensive Player of the Year candidate Matisse Thybulle, who is on the verge of becoming just the third player in 20 years (along with Shane Battier and Nerlens Noel) to average two steals and two blocks over a full season. To be sure, the Pac-12 has several teams capable of knocking off the regular-season champs -- think Oregon State, Arizona State, Arizona and UCLA -- but at +250, there is still enough value on UW, which ranks 17th nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Watch out for the suffocating 2-3 matchup zone in Las Vegas.
    Big Ten: Wisconsin Badgers (+600)

The Badgers consistently lock you down defensively (fourth in the country, per KenPom) and can survive frigid shooting nights as a result. With its glacial pace (326th nationally in possessions per game), Wisconsin can beat anyone while controlling tempo. Case in point: The Badgers have swept both meetings with Maryland and split with Michigan.
    SEC: Tennessee Volunteers (+200)

Kentucky is playing lights out, but shame on anyone sleeping on the Vols. Grant Williams is excellent, Admiral Schofield has been hot and Jordan Bone is as good a lead guard as anyone not named Ja Morant. Additionally, the Vols are still playing for a potential No. 1 seed in the tourney. The only way to get that is by cutting down the nets in Nashville.
    Big 12: Kansas Jayhawks (+350)

How about Rock Chalk? Despite enduring the most Jekyll-and-Hyde season of Bill Self's 16-year run in Lawrence, Kansas enters the Big 12 tournament with the second-best odds to take home the title. Kansas City's Sprint Center has been good to the Jayhawks, and a strong showing by KU can significantly improve both seeding and first weekend location. Look for a good showing from freshman point guard Devon Dotson, who has been a pillar of consistent play.
    ACC: Duke Blue Devils (+175)

Duke gets phenom Zion Williamson back, which changes the entire landscape of this team, both offensively and defensively. Williamson's ability to shut down the paint, finish in transition and make plays in the half court will be a lightning rod for Mike Krzyzewski. RJ Barrett, Duke's all-time leading freshman scorer, and Cam Reddish can assume their Robin-esque roles while Zion once again takes over as Batman. Duke has struggled of late, but an ACC title can be the difference between a No. 1 and No. 2 seed in the tourney.

Indiana has good value at 50-1, WIsconsin isn't going to win anything, you aren't going to beat top 10 teams when your best player shoots 40% from the foul line.

Duke doesn't need to win the whole acc tourney to get the one seed

Just beat North Carolina in the semis

Whoever wins that game wins the one seed and could lose to Virginia in the final if they wanted

Same w Kentucky Tennessee whoever finishes higher or wins it gets the one seed other tm a two
