I don't know what free monies you are referring to at Caesars or SugarHouse, but I haven't seen any of that and I get fliers from them all the time. Caesars do not even a sportsbook but the next door Bally's does.

SugarHouse does have matching up to $250, but you have to be a NJ resident to bet online and it's only the online offer.

What other promos are you seeing that I haven't seen?
Caesars does same promo as DK for $300. Sugarhouse you can just do a high % slot and make $200 free

Ya I left out of anger. They wouldn't let me put the double down for my brother, I've never heard of that before.

Meanwhile the thug next to me told me "I'd better know how to play" Then proceeds to hit 18 with the dealer showing a six and split 20 with the dealer showing a 7.

Checking out flights now for opening weekend... nothing direct yet from Detroit-AC, it’s seasonal only. Looking like Detroit-Philly then train over may best option.

If you can live without the sports book, your'e best bet is Mohegan Sun.
Voted the second best brick and mortar casino in the nation.
Nice poker room, and if you like blackjack the Indians give you an honest game, very card friendly/
3:2 on naturals on any table with a 10 dollar minimum and higher, 5 dollar tables they pay 6:5, which is OK because I avoid the low limits blackjack. They have all the prime time chef restaurants, I like Jimmy Buffet's as well.

Another 20 minutes to the north is Foxwoods, their poker room is great too.
They spread Omaha and O/8 on a regular basis which I like, lots of fish think they can play Omaha but really can't.

The only reason why I would go to Borgata is to play in a tourney, but it's a class act.

Grew up in AC, lived there 15 years. Whole family still works/lives there. Parents practically live at the borgata haha... its by far the nicest casino there. Nice restaurants, entertainment, big poker room. Rooms are a bit pricey if not gettin comped tho. Itll be cold as fuq so wouldnt reccomend hitting up the boardwalk. Dad has been a jitney driver there for 30 years.. id reccomend catching those if your casino hoppin. Cheaper then ubers.. Have fun, good luck

So, are you going there to stay over night for Saturday and Sunday nights?

I have an offer from Resorts for comped rooms for 7 days a week, but unless you book them as soon as the offers come out it's nearly impossible to get the comped rooms from Resorts for weekend nights (Friday and Saturday). I just called and they said I could still get Friday comped and same with Sunday but Saturday is at a rate of $279 as all comped rooms are already gone since only a certain number of rooms are slotted to be comped.

I have offers from CET properties, but I already book them for my parents for 3 weeks worth combined with Hard Rock and I'm looking to go there this weekend and stay with my parents.

I can still get Bally's for $165 plus tax (about 14%), so it would be about $188.10 total plus $5 resort fee for being Diamond and I'm sure that is the cheapest rate you can get at any casino hotels.

Regardless, it's always cheaper to get motels in Absecon if you want to save and drive to casinos which is only like 10 minutes drive (like 7 miles to Golden Nugget or 9 miles to Resorts).

All of the motels are about the same and SuperLodge is the lowest at $27 plus tax for a total of $45.52 right now from Kyak.

You can get a nice place like Country Suites & Inns by Radisson, but it will cost you $91.70 after tax. That place is probably the best of all motels in that area.

If I do go to AC this weekend, then I can get you a room at any of Bally's, Caesars, or Harrah's for $5 resort fee only for Sunday. You will just have to check-in with your credit card and I can check you in.

I can also give you my player cards if you want to use for free parking. The CET properties (Bally's, Caesars, and Harrah's) charge a lot for parking on weekends but it's free with my card. It's normally $5 during the weekday, but the CET properties jack it up to $25 on weekends.

Caesars recently started asking for ID, so you may not pass at Caesars but Bally's and Harrah's don't check IDs. I also have a Gold card for Borgata and they don't check IDs there either when exiting their parking garage.

I would tell you that you can eat and drink for free at CET's Diamond lounges, but I'm an asian and you probably won't pass with the name on the card to enter the Diamond lounges; although Harrah's almost never checks IDs.

You can also walk around the casinos and look for high level player cards for free parking since you can almost always find people leaving their cards on the slot machines. But then, you said you had a broken foot, so that's probably not possible.

Harrah's and Bally's recently changed their shuffling machines to continuous shufflers and as far as I know, they are the worst kind of shuffling machines to play blackjacks with, so if you plan to play blackjack then I would absolutely avoid Harrah's and Bally's; although Bally's have $5 blackjack all the time and it's good for killing time and lose less.

However, wizardofodds thinks the continuous shuffling machine lowers the casino odds, which I highly doubt.

    https://wizardofodds.com/ask-the-wiz...ack/shuffling/

If you are $25 and higher blackjack player, then the best place is Tropicana as it's all hand shuffles there for $25 tables and they have no-mid shoe entries.

Depending on the casino and the dealer at the table, they may or may not allow you to double down on someone else's hand.

However, you can give your chips or money to the person and that person can double down on his own. That's of course, unless the shitty MGM changed the rules at Borgata, I was able to do that all the time there. I was a Black Label player at Borgata every year ever since they opened in 2003 as it was so easy to get the Black Label player level. All you needed to do was earn $1,000 comps a year to get there and it normally took me less than a month to achieve that and the benefits were great; especially their Amphora lounge for the Black Label card players. Their comp rate was automatic 15% of the average bet amount, which was absolutely the highest in all AC casinos.

Ever since MGM took over, it went downhill to whole lot worse. Their comp rate was cut to less than 1/2 to less than 7% of the average bet amount, and I did math to see how long it would take me to get to their Gold card level and it would have taken at least 4 times as much play as before to get it and it totally wasn't worth it with how little they were giving you in comp dollars.

It's easier to get the Diamond level at CET and do the competitive match upgrade at Borgata for Gold.

Besides, instead of $12.50 comp dollars for each Amphora lounge entry per person, when you get 25,000 tier score at CET, it's all free to their Diamond lounge entries instead of $10 per person. So, I can eat and drink for free 365 days a year at any of the CET properties and I wish I lived in AC so I can eat there for free everyday.

As to the person who hit 18, if it was a soft 18 then it is a double down against the dealer's breaking card.

If he split 20's, then obviously he is an asshole and to be avoided at all cost.

Something else MGM got rid of at Borgata is the football picks this year; freaking cheap bastards.

I've won over $15,000 picking teams to win only as I got perfect scores several times and won $10,000 once and anywhere from $2,500 to $277 on others.

It costed nothing to enter, so it was free money if you were good at picking winners only and not against the spreads.

The promos going on right now are too good to pass up, driving up there just for them. draftkings will match up to a $500 bet with a free play of the same value, ceasars and sugarhouse have crazy promos as well. basically play your kids right with all these free monies and you will walk out with more than you come with
Also, if you do decide to come up Friday and stay at Resorts that night, then it's right next to Hard Rock casino which is completely renovated and very nice. It's hopping on weekends with lots of blackjack tables but most likely all full depending on the hours you are there. But considering you have a broken foot, it's a bit of walk even though they have an enclosed sky walkway connecting the two casinos.

I'm sure Resorts is just as nice although they probably have less number of blackjack tables. On weekends, it will be either $15 or $25 only (possibly mostly $25 if it's really crowded) and no $10 tables at all unless you go there to play like 3 AM or later.

By the way, the legal age for gambling in NJ is 21 for both the sports betting and the casino games, and all dealers do check IDs if you are remotely close to looking under-aged.

I'm guessing you know that already.

If you don't have a player card of middle level at least, then the parking could cost you even if it's $5 per in and out. If you are coming down on a weekend, then it's going to be even higher like $25 at Caesars but Caesars do not have a sportsbook yet as far as I know.

Are you coming down to review and rate the sportsbooks? If it's only for the purpose of betting, then it's all the same with maybe some slight differences in spreads and juices. Is anyone getting you a room to stay or you have comped rooms already?

I'm up $4,000 at Harrah's, down $400 at Bally's (was down $1,500 before I won $1,100), and up $1,000 at Ocean. Up over $5,000 at SugarHouse and even at Parx.

I haven't been to Borgata, Tropicana, Resorts, or Golden Nugget yet, but like what someone said earlier Ocean's sportsbook is the best and I read Resorts' is just as nice.

I have a question to anyone who's been to any casinos in Atlantic City.

If you didn't have a room to sleep in Saturday night but could check-in at 4 AM Sunday morning for Sunday's reservation and you had to kill time until 4 AM, then what can you do until then?

Is there a place you could snooze so that the security guard doesn't bother you?

I was thinking playing poker at Borgata or even at Bally's, but the tables break up when the high hand payouts are over.

Is there a decent place to snooze for a few hours? One place I know is the Living Room at Borgata, but those pesky security guards go around and tell you to wake up. They do that less often at Harrah's Living Room and there are sofas on the third floor at Caesars next to the Italian restaurant and you can snooze there and no one bothers you there.

Any other place you can snooze or kill time?
