Perhaps, but I'm not really gonna care if LaSalle defeats St. Mary's (instead of the other way around) on some random Thursday in 1987 if I'm on my way to building an empire. And for all intents and purposes, neither will the rest of the sporting world.

Besides that, I'm not exactly moving lines unless I'm swinging heavy like Money Mayweather... No need to rush, I got 45 years of winners.

No using the almanac would somehow shape and change the course of history.

For example some sports book operator sees you have good plays and tails with parlays some week and wins a ton! He goes out and gets coke and hookers and gets caught and his wife divorces him

None of that happens if the almanac isn't moved through time.

So let's say he gets divorce and in the previous version of history he was the father of Larry Bird

But now Larry is never conceived and Celts don't have their championships

I’d go on like a 20 game winning streak here. Then when I had everyone’s trust that I can predict the future, I’d get you all to leverage everything and throw a game out there with the worst bad beat of all time.

Depending on how detailed the almanac is in regard to individual performances, the almanac may be applicable to fantasy sports as well.

Great night to bet the home teams in the NHL. I don' care if you don't believe me. Could make a bet if you'd like though?

Don't worrry bettingman you are new here but one day you'll hit a decent parlay you would be proud of instead of being a skeptical twat. good luck

I think that George McFly is going to steal your almanac and drive you into a pile of manure. You will never be able to use the almanac.

In this thread, people were suggesting that the best way to use the almanac would be to set up a sportsbook yourself, and then try to get people to bet the losing side. Interesting idea I didn't think of. https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...-my-hands.html

In theory, you could have gotten everybody in America to bet for Va Tech against Old Dominion this year by making Old Dominion a 13.5 point favorite. People would set up accounts on your website just to make that one bet. Then, once Old Dominion wins by 14, you collect your massive fortune.

If we get the book, do we get to bang Marty’s mom also?

The 1955 mom, not the 1985 or 2015 mom.

The FBI would probably begin investigating you if you went 200-0. Plus it might change the outcome of sporting events.

If you went 70%, you could make a huge fortune. And nobody would get suspicious, since most people think that top sports bettors win about 70% of their bets. Seriously, go on almost any forum on the internet other than SBR, and nobody will believe you when you say that less than 1% of bettors can win at a 55% clip, and that the top bettors in the world (Voulgaris, Billy Walters) win at about a 57% clip.

Yeah because running a book and bankrupting the public with a ludicrous off-market line of Old Dominion -13.5 wouldn't raise any eyebrows at all.

    Good point.

You could do something less over the top like making Virginia Tech a 22 point favorite in the game. That would have skewed the action way toward Virginia Tech. Most books had Virginia Tech as a 28.5 or 29 point favorite.

You could do that with plenty of games over the course of the year. Let's say the spread in most books is 7 points, and you know ahead of time that the favorite is actually going to win by 17. Therefore, you could make your spread 12 points in order to skew the action way toward the underdog. I'd avoid making the spread 16.5, because it would seem rather suspicious if the team the public's betting for keeps coming 0.5 points away from covering.

Alternately you could sell your almanac to a sportsbook so they could use the tricks I mentioned above.

One thing I'd do is bet on about 5 different moneylines for big underdogs whenever I know a 20/1 upset is going to take place.

That way, nobody would be suspicious that I correctly bet for a big underdog to win. Because 4 of my 5 bets would have lost.

Guy has a damn almanac and is giving casinos a reason to give him the boot by scalping. Can’t make this up.
