A three-team deal that would have sent Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards and Kelly Oubre to the Memphis Grizzlies is dead over which Brooks -- MarShon or Dillon -- the Phoenix Suns had believed they were getting, league sources said.
Memphis would not put Dillon Brooks in the trade, sources said, leading to the agreement being called off.
The Wizards had agreed in principle to acquire Ariza in the deal, league sources had told ESPN earlier Friday night.
Washington would have sent Oubre to Memphis in the deal, sources said. The Suns would have acquird Wizards guard Austin Rivers and Grizzlies forwards MarShon Brooks and Wayne Selden. Memphis also would have sent Washington a 2020 second-round pick and a 2019 conditional second-round pick via Boston.
The trade could not have been be finalized until Saturday, the first day that 2019 free agent signees become trade eligible.
